Stickball Special

Cancro Special
Provolone, roast beef and pepperoni. In the summer of ’74, the Pepsi delivery man requested a curious combination of provolone, roast beef, and pepperoni. Peter Cancro’s brother, John, liked the sandwich so much, he gave it the family name and a menu spot of its own.

I go to Jersey Mikes at once a week. I like to go early to beat the crowd. I order the same thing all the time. Today a young girl had the job of putting the “mikes way” garnishes on my sandwich. It was so over loaded with oil and vinegar that when I got home both sides of the bread were mushy, I couldn’t even eat it without the entire sandwich falling apart. I tired to call and give them heads up so this wouldn’t happen to anyone else but their voicemail was not setup.

Ordered from Mike’s last night, went there for take out. Get home and for like the 7th time out of last 10 orders it was wrong. Drove back and they acted like it was just no big deal. They did remake the sandwich, but should it really be necessary to check each sandwich before leaving the store? Just really disappointed.

Today I ordered a single sandwich on the app at 11:48am and pickup was scheduled for 12:03pm. I didn’t get my sandwich until 12:18pm. Apparently, there was a large to-go order which the staff was focused on. During my 15 minute wait (post pick-up time), I watched as many people went through the line, ordered, and received their sandwiches. Surely this is not how order prioritization is supposed to work??? On top of the long wait, I was completely ignored that whole time and received no communication on when I might receive my order. I also received no apology after my order was fulfilled 15 minutes late. One of the reasons I spend $13 for a sandwich and a drink is reliable speed of service. The next time I get ignored for 15 minutes I will initiate a chargeback and go somewhere else. (clearly I can’t cancel my order in-store while being ignored)

The subs are always amazing here. We had placed a order online on January 13th. Took a bit longer than usual to get our food which I was told the reason why it took longer to get our food was told our ticket was misplaced so I was given four coupons to make up for it. I’m glad I looked at the coupons before using them. The coupons expired in November of 2020.
