Been in merrillville for 3 months and this spot by far is my favorite. Chicken was seasoned generously, mild and spicy jerk sauce was a hit, Mac n cheese was rich, salted, and had cheddar stretch when you pull it out of the bowl. Everything tasted great but The cabbage surprisingly had the best flavor. My only complaint was 2-3 out of the 24 wings I ordered were too burnt to eat, but it was still worth it. They have drinks daily and karaoke on wednesdays, cool ambiance, would be great for group night, date night, or even just to pull up for a plate. The girl working the front wasn’t very friendly, but I came for food so I didn’t care too much. I hope they stay open

Waited for over 50 minutes for food to come out ordered the brown stew chicken and the jerk chicken. The Jerk chicken was okay it didn’t have any flavoring and the brown stew chicken tasted like it came from a pack of gravy mix and it was cold when it was brought it. The restaurant seems to prioritize their online orders over actual customers when it comes to service.

After learning about this food place, I decided to try for myself. I ordered takeout, which was jerk chicken and a large side order of smothered cabbage. I must say, it was delicious. The restaurant is small, but they have free parking, a small bar inside, and places to sit and dine in. I plan to be a repeat customer, and strongly recommend to the public.

The food was good, but the portions sizes for the price was just not worth it to me, along with the customer service. When ordering drinks from the bar they charged 18% gratuity, I wasn’t aware of that. My experience would have been better if I didn’t have to wait over a hour for Just 1 dinner. They don’t call you when your meal is ready, you just have to keep checking. The booth seats were unstable & wobbly. If the whole experience was better, I would have given them 4 stars because the food was good, but it’s a bit over priced and it was served in a to go box.

Nice portion size. Chicken was good and seasoned. Green beans/Mac and cheese not good … The rice and beans tasted like black pepper. The Beef Pattie I enjoyed a lot . Customer service nice but you can tell they are still trying to get it together with just opening up. I didn’t have to wait too long for my food.

The dark jerk chicken is what I got is comes with rice and beans which is really good. I also get to choose two sides and I got the macaroni and cheese which is ok and sweet potatoes which are delicious. For about 18 bucks. I ate in which was nice because the place is really clean and they play great music and sometimes they have karaoke. They also have a full bar which serves great drinks. Service was wonderful staff was attentive and on point. P.S. don’t forget the bread it’s really good it comes with your meal.

I have come a couple of times and I get the same thing every time, jerk wing dinner with cabbage and yams as my 2 sides. My dine-in experience is kinda nice but now they have security at the door on certain days that has begin to make me skeptical but I guess it’s for the best. The atmosphere, drinks and food were good when I dined-in. When I order out, it gets annoying. You can’t call in an order, there’s always something they DON’T have and the chicken can be dry and old, like it’s been laying out for a while. Please take this constructively, because my dine-in experience wasn’t bad. But this place could be a hit or miss tbh

Food is okay but not what it’s hyped up to be. Definitely have had better jerk. Portion sizes are also small for the pricing. Here’s the kicker, They charge $2 for ice if you get a margarita on the rocks. There’s also an extra fee if you pay with a card, which in my opinion is tacky if I’m spending over a certain amount. I will never patronize this place again.

Did not eat here but the name alone merits five stars. With the heavy curtains that disallow a view into the restaurant from outdoors, it makes me wonder what they’re really doing in there
