As everyone has already stated, service is slow, but if you’re not in a rush it’s not so bad. I wanted so much to love this place but the food was just ok. The batter used on the whiting was flavorless and too hard and thick. The home fries were overly done and hard ion the the outside. Grits were “ok”. Coffee was decent. Biscuits were good on one plate but on the other it was burnt on the outside so was too hard to eat. Nice vibe and customers. Attractive plating, but food not good enough to cause me go go back. There are better restaurants offering similar breakfast not too far away.

Food was fantastic. I had fried whiting with home fries. Batter was light and crispy, did not overpower fish. My wife had fried catfish with grits and biscuits. Grits were best we have ever had. Biscuits were buttery and light. Service was friendly.

Decadent comfort food that I always save for special Sunday brunches. I usually order chicken & waffles (white meat), and [copious amounts of] biscuits. This most recent visit I tried the fried catfish; this was a good decision. As with everything else they serve, it was simple fare executed flawlessly. I cannot recommend Jefferson’s enough; five stars is an insufficient rating. Only cons: Parking is not great (park across the street, at Glenfield Park), the prices are a bit high (but you’re paying for quality), and they’re not fast (but it’s so very worth the wait). The moral of the story is: go to Jefferson’s, soon.
