My family and I were pleasantly surprised by this place. Going in I was just expecting it to be like a casual bar and burger place and that was fine with us. However, we were all so pleasantly surprised! Our visit was filled with awesome outdoor water views with high quality food in a very casual setting. We learned the fish is bought fresh and it was delicious!! The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and was very tasty!! Thank you for making our family birthday/anniversary afternoon lunch celebrations a perfect day! It ended up being even more perfect than we imagined!! Shout out to our server Diane, thank you for making our first visit a wonderful afternoon. We will be going back.

We absolutely love the Jefferson House! What an amazing atmosphere on the lake with good food! We have been here so many time and always can’t wait to come every summer to sit on the lake and enjoy good eats. Just a few photos of the many that I have. If you haven’t been here I say give it a try!

Great setting. Live music. Good food. Not easy to get to but worth the effort. It is a perfect summer evening destination. Nicely maintained place.

Food was good so was the drinks. The wake is choppy when you’re trying to park your boat. They have cheap O ring tie downs.

Tried this place for the first time and was VERY, pleasantly surprised. I’m not into the bar scene but once we got there the food was great (This is not gourmet fine dining but what you get is delicious, especially the cod) and the view outstanding. Our waiter “Jason” was outstanding with his hospitality (might be an owner he weas so good?) and the greeter at the desk got a us a great table even without a reservation with a very long line behind us. Finding parking was not easy but they HAVE parking all over the place in assorted areas. WILL return!

Oh My Cod! Their fresh cod was one of the best buttery, flakiest cod to ever melt in my mouth. Feast your eyes on our pictured dishes… We enjoyed our experience so much we dined two days in a row; even brought more people! 😀 Gotta try their homemade marinara. Dip the bread or fries in the extra sauce – nommerz!

Great sunsets & view of lake from outdoor seating. Good live music. Bartenders & swerved very nice and work hard. Only negative is lots of steps (may be too steep or hard to get back up for some people) from parking lots to outdoor tables and dock. Oh, and boats can pull right up and dock – way nice!

This was my first experience dining at the Jefferson House and it was just wonderful – I’ll definitely be coming back. Wonderful views overlooking Lake Hopatcong, delicious reasonably-priced food thoughtfully prepared, and the best service I’ve had in a very long time. Our waitress (who told us she had been working there for 30 years) was a true professional: friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I happen to be a dog lover, and our adjoining outdoor tables boasted a French Bulldog, two Golden Retrievers and a King Charle Spaniel. Love this place!
