This is an old school Houston original since 1923. Locals and insiders know. The hot dogs, chili and Frito Pie are legendary. Very good, fresh burgers and fries too. The Delaware Punch is still around but called “Coney Punch” now.

We just visited here. Decided to stop as the big red sign caught my attention. Oh my am I glad we did. The service was so pleasant and a breath of fresh air! Veronica, thank you so much for being patient with us and helping us with our order! Superb customer service! The food is perfectly packaged and stayed hot for the ride home. Delicious to the taste and thanks so much for the crispy fries!!

I ordered two James Street Coneys. I order with extra chili because there is never enough chili on the hot dogs.

The staff here restores my faith in people. Warm, friendly, attentive…you just don’t expect that type of service at many restaurants these days, and definitely not in a fast food joint. What a pleasant experience. And, the food is prepared to look and taste perfect. While we ate several members of the staff were constantly on the lookout to clean tables, the drink station, counters. They are doing things right here and I want the entire JCI team to know we noticed and appreciate the effort.

The young girl behind the counter absolutely did NOT want to be there!! Wouldn’t look at me much less smile!! I work in a retail establishment so I know the issues with young people and I know what is unacceptable! Everything else was great – including the gentleman bussing tables – his smile and graciousness made up for her! They should’ve switched jobs!! BTW – best CORNDOG ever!!!

I decided to drive through for the first time in a while. I wasn’t sure what the menu looked like so I asked for a minute to look, and the person working drive through (Veronica) was so kind and patient with my order. When I pulled up to the window I was greeted with a smile and a “Hey love, how you doing?” I had to come leave a review for Veronica because nowadays polite/warm drive through employees are hard to come by. Oh, my food was amazing as well. Will be coming back!

I was rather disappointed. I waited a long time to try JCI and the hot dogs were on par with 7/11. The chili was low quality and the hot dog tasted almost sour. Save your money and go to 7/11 if you want a hot dog like this
