I was a tourist visiting a friend in New Smyrna. He recommended this restaurant. When I ordered the JBs fish platter, he also recommended I get it blackened and I wouldn’t be disappointed. He was right. I absolutely loved my food. It has to be the best fish I’ve ever had. I wish this was a franchise so I could find more locations but I guess that’s what makes this place special. 5 stars. The sweet tea was perfect also.

So good!! Love the atmosphere and super nice employees, not too expensive either. Tried alligator tail for the first time (so delicious) which was fun. Recommend grouper sandwich for having a decent portion and alligator for deliciousness and uniqueness.

Awesome food. JA was our server and he was awesome. We were well taken care of. We ordered the smoked fish dip, the Yo’s Buffalo shrimp and hushpuppies for appetizers. Everything was delicious. Our table also ordered the scallops and shrimp, the crab stuffed flounder, the blackened Mahi sandwich, the fried fish and shrimp basket and the Cajun fried shrimp basket. Everything was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. And for some reason I feel like it’s so hard to find good ranch dressing at Florida restaurants. It’s always Kens ranch and I do not care for Kens ranch. Their ranch dressing was awesome lol. Highly recommend. It’s a beautiful atmosphere. Parking out front. Indoor and outdoor seating. We went around 530 on a Tuesday and we had no wait at all.

Good spot for fish and crab which is what we were looking for. The service was good and food came out pretty quickly and was delicious. We ordered the tuna bits, soft shell crab, snow crab, rock shrimp, and grouper plate.

Great place, right on the water. You can pull up in your car or your boat and get a bite. Food was good and not that expensive. Great atmosphere even at lunch time on a Friday.

What a fun place! The food was good, service was good, and it’s a really fun old fl style place. Got the smoked fish dip. If I see it on a menu, I order it. It was really good! Only note I have is that if it’s even a little windy (and it usually is …) the fish dip comes with individually wrapped crackers, and man, those little plastic wrappers blow away easily. Being right on the water, I would suggest they get unwrapped to save the plastic from potentially getting into the water. Same with the individual packets of hot sauce. They should replace with a bottle. Other than that.. loved it. Can easily grab a drink while you wait for a table and it had a cute gift shop.

It’s really a GOOD place to go. Service is great. Atmosphere can’t be beat. Food is excellent. Our dinners were fresh and hot. Captain’s Platter was full of all kinds of seafood from clams, fish, shrimp, oyster, scallops, crab cake hush puppy. All deep fried to perfection. Broiled Flounder was a large portion. Both dinners were served with French fries and slaw. We also had their famous Orange pie. DELICIOUS. You must try it. Prices are very reasonable. Put this as a definite dining experience. You won’t be disappointed!!

Truly a gem in New Smyrna. Worth the trip down to find it! Some of the best, freshest seafood you’ll have. Huge selection as well. Great for lunch or a night out. They are prepared for everything! Also, the alligator is a must. Nothing like it.

JB’s is a popular spot, so expect a wait. They do not take reservations, but you can grab a drink and wait dockside. They had a band outside, and there is plenty of area to sit and enjoy the sounds and ambiance. The sunset over the water, if you get to witness it, is a nice site to see. Service was a bit on the slower side and the food is what you would expect at a tiki or beach side restaurant, nothing grand here.

The first time we tried JB’S Fish Camp on this trip was Saturday around 6 p.m. and the place was jammed. So we retreated to come back again Thursday around 4 p.m., when we were seated outside at a nice shady table with a great view of the waterway.
