Heard about this restaurant by word of mouth….drove an hour just to get there….BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!! It’s out in the middle of nowhere…and just a heads up it’s cash only…we all got the buffet…shrimp and flounder and catfish…and other country style offerings ate on the buffet….the fried chicken is amazing!!….great little spot…will definitely be back!!!! Loved it!

I stepped back into my past tonight. Fond memories of this place and family. We stopped in tonight and is was as good as ever or better. Fried fish, shrimp, fatback (I never passover fatback), chicken livers. I hurt myself trying to enjoy every dish.

This place is a “diamond in the rough”. We enjoyed immensely . If you love nostalgia and good ” down home” cooking, you will love this place. Family owned business for over 60 years. There is a Buffet for $15.00 that’s has seafood as well as all the other dishes normally served on a Buffet. Price includes buffet, salads, soups, desserts, drinks and taxes. All you can eat! All good. You may also order from extensive menu.

Great place to take the family for an affordable meal. You get a lot of food for your money. And, if you order the large from the menu of anything, expect to be taking part of your meal home. The founder was excellent.

A favorite of mine. I order from the menu because I like broiled seafood. I rotate between shrimp, scallops or combo plates.. A salad with dessert is included. The buffet usually has great choices and my husband like to get it. Last time we visited he got grilled salmon and it was delicious. The staff is usually very attentive and always friendly and helpful. FYI, they don’t accept credit cards but they have an ATM on-site. They have a separate room for larger groups. There are two separate entrances & two dining rooms. Enjoy!

Great variety of good Ole home cooking on the buffet. Seafood items, fried chicken, meatloaf, veggies, salad bar & dessert items, to name a few. The entire staff was super friendly & provided great customer service. A very pleasant dining experience.

Five ******* stars, If you love seafood, home cooked favorites, fresh vegetables, and yummy homemade desserts. Plus the BEST SWEET TEA IN STANLY CO. Check out Jays buffet in Albemarle N.C. (SUNDAYS After CHURCH IS ALWAYS A GREAT TIME and you will leave full and ready for A good SUNDAY AFTERNOON NAP). BEEN coming to Jays for many many years NEVER DISAPPOINTS. The staff has many many veteran years as well. You know when employees have been there 20plus,always smiling, friendly, attentive, and LOVE THEIR JOB. ITS BECAUSE ITS AN ALL AROUND GREAT ESTABLISHED Businesses

Took my mother out for her birthday, arrived around 4:30 on a Thursday and was able to immediately sit, there is a lot of sitting room inside and never felt too crowded. Waitress was kind and polite, even assisted us in turning on the ceiling fan when we got too hot. The food was really good, nothing over cooked. The meatloaf I didn’t eat because the inside was kind of red, idk if it was seasonings or undercooked. The restaurant is very clean and I noticed no dust even on the decor. My whole family got the Buffett adults 15.00, 10-12 10.00 and 2-6 5.00 all taxes and drinks included. They do take only cash but have an ATM inside.

It has been a while since I visited this place. I waited to get served on a busy Sunday afternoon and I gave up and left. Maybe it was a bad day for them.

My dad had eaten at Jays many years ago and had me see if it was still there and so a couple of weeks ago we traveled 1 1/2 hours to eat a early dinner. It was my first time and it was worth the trip. Friendly staff and food was great. Highly recommended
