Great place for some Mexican food! Staff are on it. Always helping and friendly. Large indoor seating and several outside options for outside as well. My family typically orders the chicken tacos which are always good. The enchiladas are a must order as well. @food_from_the_usa

I hadn’t been to Javier’s for several years, I had forgotten what a nice place it is. Great service, wide selection on the menu, good ambiance, and darn tasty margaritas. If you haven’t been here before, you will find this to be far more authentic Mexican food than the other trendy places in downtown Arlington Heights. Javier’s has been here a lot longer than the other guys. They put the attention and quality into their food rather than the latest trend.

Food was very good ! Will definitely be coming back. Staff is very welcoming and nice . Great indoor and outdoor seating. Loved the chicken enchiladas. I would say thus place has the best enchiladas. Salsa was good, could have been a little better.

I had the tampiquena and shrimp. Steak was the best I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant. Melted in my mouth. Appetizers were good as well. Just got queso but it was very tasty. Lot of tequila slections also. Liked they had flight specials for those.

Stopped by on a whim after going to see firsthand the senseless destruction of one of the most beautiful race tracks in America with my nephew… We were pretty melancholy to be honest and I felt like some old school, quiet tradition after seeing all the history at Arlington Park being battered into the past by water hoses and wrecking balls and we surprisingly found it here at Javier’s. The restaurant manufactured a dimly lit and cool space on a hot and sweaty summer day. The waiters were busy but seemed honestly grateful that we had stopped for lunch and showed us as much through considerate service. The enchiladas con mole’ and chicken tacos were well worth the affordable price they were asking. I did miss the up-charge note for the mole’ but that was on me… I was thinking about amazing thoroughbred horses that I would never have the pleasure of seeing in Arlington Park again I guess. I also thought I took some pictures for all you curious netizens out there but must have been all in my mind as it turns out… so if you want to check out the decor, find and watch the Tyrone Power and Basil Rathbone 1940 rendition of the movie The Mark of Zorro (best version) and you will have a good idea of what to expect if you stop by and enjoy a meal and/or cocktail at Javier’s. As far as I could tell however, no one had ever stuck a sword into the ceiling in THIS cantina after drinking a bunch of tequila and showing off crazy sword fighting skills for his crew.

My wife and I love eating in (outside if possible) or taking out. The food is always great and service is spot on. I try and find something new each time. My favorite is the Steak a la Tampiqueña (skirt steak) with a Michelada (Modelo Especial Dark)! It can get busy so reserve and enjoy a margarita while you wait.

This restaurant is good place for Mexican food. I had taco dinner and it was a good meal but nothing special. This Mexican restaurant has an American twist to it. They have nice seating outside. I recommend to order their Sangria, it is super good.
