This spot has lots of tables for people to spread out and study or mingle. The coffee is well made, and the sandwiches and pastries are delicious with lots of options. Not overpriced either – I got two big iced lattes, a panini and a croissant egg sandwich for $25. And the owners are so so so sweet and adorable. They really add to experience.

Java Hutt is my favorite coffee shop in Ferndale. They give you the largest coffee for the money, have a large variety of food and treats, and their coffee does not give me a belly ache and heartburn. A coffee shop was just opened a block from our house, and I’ll still choose Java Hutt every time. The staff is friendly and fast and they make me feel like a part of the community, opposed to just a nameless face.

One of my favorite places to get a iced dirty Chai latte! The breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon is amazing! I wish the cups were a bit bigger for the price but still worth it. The atmosphere is cool, just have experienced some “privilaged” customers on a few occasions so I prefer to get my items to go.

Java Hutt was awful. I asked to use the restroom, they told me both restrooms were occupied (men’s and women’s), so I stood outside the restrooms waiting. After a while I knocked on both, it seemed like they were vacant, just locked.

The coffee was decent and the pastries we’re too. It’s a chill, laid back vibe and the barista was nice. There are a lot of plugs for charging and there is plenty of seating. Great for people watching on 9 Mile.
