FUSION OF PERUVIAN FOOD WITH MEXICAN DECOR!
Mila Corrao
For a restaurant in a mall Jarana is full of surprises. Even though we didn’t have reservations we were seated within a few minutes. Place was packed on a Saturday afternoon. I never had Peruvian food before the names on the menu was a little strange to me but the waiter was very friendly and explained the drinks and the menu. I had the Peruvian version of a Moscow mule, very tasty and looks great too. Dinner was pollo Saltado , I have heard about this dish and decided to give it a try. It was delish. The sauce is a combination of soy sauce , oyster sauce and vinegar with crispy Pieces of chicken onion green peppers fresh tomatoes served over rice, cooked in a wok.

Took my dad here for his birthday our waiter Hector was amazing, super friendly & courteous. The food was also really good as a fellow Peruvian I would say the food is definitely very good! The only reason I give it a 4 stars and not 5 stars because the kitche the served has a hard time getting the table meal to all come at the same time. It’s my second time here and the same thing happened the first time. Although that has nothing to do with the servers and I feel like more the kitchen staff & the manager I get it’s a busy restaurant but like you can’t bring out one plate & then bring the other one out 20 minutes later. We had to ask hector of an eta because I got my food first & my dad was waiting and it was HIS birthday so kinda disappointing. The manager should pay more attention to the kitchen and how it’s going instead of just standing by the bar. Anyway like I said over all the servers are great & the food is good but just have to work on the kitchen staff. Also they tend to forgot to bring the sauces. For example my dish was suppose to come with huacatay sauce and it never did and I asked for well done & the middle was pink. The first picture was today the other ones were from the last time I was there.

Jarana offers authentic Peruvian cuisine and as a Peruvian, I can attest to this claim. We had multiple dishes from the pulpo al olivo, ceviche clásico, tiradito bachiche, anticuchos de corazón, and the torta de chocolate.

Food, drinks and service were all fantastic! Best were the lima airport and chicken causa.

Hello my foodies! So, this place opened up at the American Dream Mall in Rutherford. The decor was lovely and the staff pretty friendly over all as they wanted to make a good impression. The menu has a good variety of Peruvian cuisine to choose from. The price, however, is higher than what I would normally spend, so if you go here, I suggest that you go with a group and get the meals you can share and spilt the bill. The most affordable items were probably the appetizers, but you don’t get too much food on those alone. The meals we shared were actually pretty good. It was my first time eating Peruvian food, but don’t be afraid to ask the waiter for help on recommending a dish or explaining what some of the food items are if you are a newbie like me. The chicharron was excellent! The rice and beans very tasty. I recommend try something new and treat yourself!

We were at the American Dream on an casual date night/games with my wife. We wanted to eat at Mozzarella. But was lured past Mr. Beast Burger to Jarana. We werecurious by the menu. The dining room wasn’t very busy but the attentive hostess was quick to seat us.

one of the best restaurant experiences of my life. the food was great, the dessert was life-changing, and most importantly, the service was unforgettable. Daisy (hopefully i spelled their name right) was one of the best waiters i’ve had in my life. very knowledgeable, told us everything we needed to know, answered all our questions, and was extremely attentive. they made the experience ten times better. not sure (and don’t really care) if this wasn’t authentic peruvian food, but best believe we’ll be back

Food here is delicious, first things off. For the most part, I thought the food was on point. Especially loved the Ceviche & the Seco, full of flavor. Drinks were also tasty, great variety there.

I went to Jarana restaurant with my family on Sunday, even though there was a long line and a lot of people we were able to sit pretty quickly. The atmosphere was fun, we all had a great experience, the food was delicious, all the different plates were awesome (the Jalea, the papa rellena, lomo saltado, anticuchos and causa de pollo) the drink chicha morada was very refreshing. The dessert milhojas and picarones were great the service was excellent we will be back for sure.
