The food is quite good, but I honestly don’t know why it’s so expensive. Entrees are around $35 each, with Chef Daily Specials around $20-30. For some reason, one thing price-wise really got me; they charge $6 for a soda. And it’s not a free-refill/fountain drink…they literally pour a can of soda in a small glass and charge $6.

Wife and I just ate there, We ate there 2 years ago and it was truly nice and formal with candle on the tables and a truly delicious menu. This time I was not impressed with the menu choices so my wife and I decided to play it safe with a steak. When you pay $42 just for a steak it better be good and this one was average and tough. The loaded potato was not loaded and half cooked . It was tough for both of us. I would expect better for a $172 bill. Steaks at Texas Roadhouse has better flavor and you get a hot potato that is fully cooked with a salad. OH and I forgot to mention $12 for a mix drink. That is crazy. Wife and I surely won’t be going back and we will let everyone know the kind of food they now have. I have no complaints on the service.

Excellent, cozy dining environment. The food was incredible. Easily the best cuisine in Cenla. Easy to find, unique corrugated steel building. Staff was very personable and friendly, and gave their favorite recommendations and good descriptions of the menu. Chef’s specials were amazing. Expensive, but very appropriately priced for the caliber of dining experience you receive.

We were the only customers and were dining before the theater. We asked how long it would take and were told another 15 minutes. We asked about 3 more times over the next 55 minutes and each time were told, “It’s coming right out,” and then all staff would disappear. We waited over an hour and were late for the treater. The waiter blamed the kitchen staff. We were still the only table seated when we left and neither the chef or the propritor came to speak to us. Very disappointing

We had a wonderful dining experience at Janohns a couple of weeks ago! The crab meat and avocado appetizer was simply divine! The meal was all presented beautifully, it was fresh and delicious! This restaurant is something special. It has a charm to it that is far beyond anything else in or around Cenla. The staff are friendly and the food is beyond wonderful. This is a well kept secret located in the heart of Boyce that is definitely worth the drive.
