I reviewed this cereal spot at Springfield mall a month or two ago. While in the mall I noticed this Caribbean eatery in their food court (Eateries ALWAYS catch my attention). I took note to go back, & give them a shot!! So today…this is where I’m at!!

Probably would give this place a better rating on the atmosphere if it was not inside the mall. But let’s get into it this is not the most authentic place as most real Jamaican restaurants don’t serve ribs lol. They do the job though I feel used to Jamaican food then you can get some real planting and a real Patty. Considering that this was in a food court I did not want to touch the jerk chicken and end up disappointing myself. However I did try the oxtail and it was pretty good I wouldn’t give it five stars but it did the job.

Delicious!! I’ve wanted to try this place for a while and I finally made it. A restaurant with fried plantains is so rare, and it’s one of my favorite foods. Beef patties and coco bread are made to order! My sister got the fried whiting fish sandwich with a side of fries. Everything tasted authentic and I look forward to coming back to try other menu items. Also, I was happy to see environmentally-friendly packaging (foil, paper bags, recyclable containers- no styrofoam). Wish it was a chain restaurant!

5 stars definitely for this place. I always get the jerk chicken here I don’t like chicken breast but that’s what they give you but the women cooking knows how to make very good chicken breast. They give you lots of meat. They curry chicken is always on special like a lower price and it’s delicious also. I also tried this fish sandwich and the fish is delicious. Food here is awesome I would only eat at jammin island bbq at this food court.

Yesterday was my first time trying this place. I ordered the jerk salmon burger with a side of fried plantains. It takes a while to get the food because the burger is cooked fresh, so I didn’t mind the wait. It was really good, I’d definitely get their food again next time I’m at Springfield mall.

Just OKay for Jamaican food didn’t look too good and was below par to what I am use to eating . The chicken was strips with jerk sauce spread on it basically look like store bought chicken strips great let down. Came from Texas excited to eat the Jamaican food in Virginia..but the Jamaican food in Baltimore Maryland was the best! small place near aliceana street..on top of that I don’t think Jamaicans are cooking this food..they know better. Jerk chicken, collards& rice & peas was my entree.

Food was so tasty. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas, and coleslaw; oxtail with rice and peas and collard greens. Both meat were good, coleslaw tasted really good too, but paid $23 only got that little portion was overpriced. Also I waited about 2 hrs to get the order through Uber eats

I have been loyal to Jammin for years and absolutely loved them at Epiq Food Hall in Woodbridge. But since arriving in Springfield the food has gone downhill and i now struggle to continue eating there. The flavor is now gone, the oxtails are more fatty than ever and even when i pay for extra sauce it is often not included on my takeout orders. To the management the food you currently sell is definitely damaging the Jammin reputation that i previously loved so much.

I was looking for Korean BBQ when Jammin Island came up. To my surprise It advertised as a “Caribbean Restaurant” which is food i love so I went for it. The Jerk ribs were soooo tender with a nice amount of smoke flavor. The oxtail stew was more on the side of being braised but the flavor was amazing. The chicken wings were cooked just the way I like. Crispy and juicy. I ate them so fast I didn’t notice the sauce/chutney that it came with which was full of flavor. I usually like my greens slightly salty. These had a slight sweet flavor which took them to new flavor sensation for me. This was one of the best food delivery gambles I’ve made in a long time since it was delivered fast and everthing was hot. I will definitely order again.

Exceptional quality food. I tried it one day because the lines everywhere else in the food courts were too long, and they did not disappoint. I’ve been back every week and will continue to enjoy the food here. Great quality food, awesome flavor, nice variety.
