Upon entering, the hostess was unfriendly. She didn’t say anything, and I was unsure of whether to wait or seat myself so I had to ask. The waitresses were in the back and had to be told to come to our table. The restaurant has an open kitchen which only serves to smoke up the entire place and make the windows look greasy. The food was mediocre. The sign claims “home cooking” , but the mashed potatoes tasted like box mashed potatoes. The hostess in the front dumped out her tip jar and counted the dirty money, then without washing her hands, started putting silverware in bags. WTH??? Definitely not worth paying over 30

I had never been here before nor did I know this home cooked place existed. I got to the restaurant around 7:45 am and didn’t know whether to seat my self or wait. After a few others came in and seated themselves I asked if I was allowed to sit at the bar which I did. I waited about 2 min before being asked if I wanted a drink which was quiet fast. After I got my coffee I had to wait nearly 10-15 min before I saw someone and they took my order. I wasn’t upset as I’ve worked in the service industry all my life. After ordering my food I was approached by 4 waitresses on several occasions asking if I already ordered, what I ordered, saying my food would be out soon. Then the line cooks didn’t seem to excited when 4 different people were asking g about my food. I took note of how many tickets were up only 6 at the time and i had already been waiting about 20mins for my food. The gentleman next to me told me that he thought they forgot about me since I arrived before him and ordered right after him. This kind old man even repeated my order back to me and I never verbally told him. How is it he can remember my exact order but 4 waitresses cannot. After finally gettting my food after waiting nearly an hour I wasn’t surprised at the low quality. My bacon was cold, my bread was cold, the grits and eggs were great and for once my eggs were cooked correct at a restaurant. The worse part was my french toast. They drenched it so much in the batter that the center was sopping wet. I have never had such wet french toast before. Other than that, the flavor wasn’t bad at all. To add to customer service and atmosphere, I personally think they need to take a look at how the floor functions. Servers were all over the place taking while to get to anyone, assign table sections. The bus boys, they seemed very disappointed to be there. I watched them clean a few tables and it was worse than a toddler. At least the child would rub the towel around and try to clean it. Neither of them even looked at the table they were cleaning. Honestly the lacked complete effort for simple task they were presented. The kitchen style, they should reconsider. Yeah it’s interesting to have an open plan, but I think it made me more irritated seeing what what was happening and typically if there us a resturant where i can see them prepare food i sit there because its interesting. Grease also seemed to be everywhere. And there was hardly anything to keep the food hot, all food was placed on a counter for plating up and pickup. Overall, spent over an hour in the resturant and most of it was waiting on my food . I watched so many come, eat, and leave before i ever got my meal. Id rather go to waffle house or a differet diner around the parish. I don’t really have anything postive to say other than everyone who came in contact with me was friendly even other guest.

Went in for breakfast. Chicken fried steak was delicious. Biscuit and gravy is a must have. My girlfriend had a veggie omelet which was filled with veggies and she really enjoyed it. Service was incredible. Came to the table as soon as we sat. So polite and friendly. The owner even came by our table asking how our food was. I’ll be going back.

It wasn’t busy the morning I had gone. The heavy set waitress wasn’t very attentive &, talked to other staff a lot so, another Waitress stepped in. The Restaurant is very run down & dingy but, I have to say this, the food was Excellent! Prices are reasonable.

Used to be a semi regular, but quality and service have continually decreased. Kept hoping the quality would come back, but our last two visits have been terrible. We visited today (10/23) and my husband’s sausage gravy was cold and my pancake was burnt. After dropping our food, the waitress never returned to check on us. Our family won’t be returning.

Good home cooking. Chicken fried steak was really good. The egg orders just seemed kinda small. This is a great place to stop for a slow pace, homey feeling meal.

This place epitomizes the southern kitchen experience. Food is great. Service is great. The best part is that it’s very spacious unlike Waffle house. There a lot of large tables, perfect for big groups !
