First time here, moving from Texas to Virginia it’s hard to find good Mexican food. This location hit the spot. Although they have a couple of Texas inspired dishes..bless their hearts..yeah not Texas style. But over all the food was great, great service and definitely a place to make regular visits to.

We have been coming multiple times to eat lunch or dinner. I’ve always been upset about coming in because we are ignored by the staff as they walk by and they do acknowledge us… It can take up to 10 minutes to be seated. (Keep in mind: We have to stay standing up.) Food and drinks is okay. Usually food is a hit or miss… One time, they forgot to add the shrimp to my fajitas and I had to wait an HOUR to get my shrimp…. Potatoes on “The Parrilla” were flavorless. I completely regretted ordering this off the menu. Same thing with checking out, it takes FOREVER to get someone at the register so I can pay my bill and head my way…

Juan is the most disrespectful and rude waiter I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Do not recommend this restaurant STRICTLY because of him. This was not a “bad day” either. It has been every time I have had him as waiter. Unfortunately will not be returning again.

On our way back to DC from a scenic drive in Shenandoah, Monday Aug. 14. We decided to just find a “Mexican” restaurant to hopefully have a decent meal. We found ourselves at Jalisco. First impression, small store front in a small fairly nice and safe looking “strip mall.”. Upon entering I was a little overwhelmed with the gaudy grandiose of the Western wagon wheel and Jalisco branded decor. Authentic to the Jalisco region? (See pics). We were greeted unenthusiastically but after some interaction with our waitress from Guadalajara, she lightened up and so did we. It was not busy, about 4:30 pm. Drinks were ordered to include a blended margarita, which looked very good and with no complaints from the person consuming it 100%, I can only conclude it was good. My beer (por) tap, Amber Dos Equis was good as well. The food was hot/ warm to serve and my nachos grande was solid , ample beef burger but could have used more (pollo) chicken. Quantity was good and quality and taste were solid, I could taste the ingredients. The other travelers seemed pleased with their meals as well. The service was very good overall, fast and efficient enough as would be expected since there were few others eating at that time. The bathroom appeared clean with paper towels ( I hate air blow dryers). Curiously there was a mouth wash dispenser in there as well. Overall, this entertaining and somewhat visually overwhelming place, Jalisco rates in the range of (4.0-4.2). Gracias!
