An animal or poultry has to be slaughtered in a ritual way known as Halal. Halal Meats requires animals to be alive and healthy at the time of slaughter. These animals are treated in a humane manner, fed with wholesome foods and given clean water. Each animal is handled with dignity, the process is as painless as possible. My husband and I ate here this past weekend and it did not disappoint. It was very similar to chipotle but the ingredients tasted so fresh and the sauces were so good! Most of all the owner and staff were so welcoming

imagine paying $18 for a chicken bowl where the food has bugs and flies around it never again and way over prices literally can go to chipotle and get double chicken for that price

I came here around 1 pm after a friend told me they have a lunch special. When I placed my order the employee charged me around $17 for a chicken bowl. I had asked the employee is there no lunch special and he had said they stopped doing it and apologized which was kind of him. In fact there was an advertisement on the TV saying “12-3 lunch special”. I do not blame the employee but rather the management. If you don’t have the lunch special anymore at least take it off the TV and advertisements and let customers know before hand. ( P.S they need to work on their queso it seems to be just milk and cheese, on top of that it’s curdled and bland.)
I Never Was
Along with the rapid growth of Halal Mexican options on Long Island comes Jalapeno Shack. We ordered the 3-pack of tacos, everything made fresh and in front of us. Despite the value, our overall experience was poor. Start to finish, it took 15 minutes to prepare one order of tacos which really tested our patience. The choices of bases and toppings were nice to see and really built up our expectations along the way. Each taco was filled to the brim and overflowing, so it was near-comical seeing three of them be squished into one burrito bowl as it’s main packaging. Biting into each taco, a few things became clear: the ingredients were fresh but not high-quality, the chicken and beef were cooked well but not adequately spiced, and the whole taco was just plain bland. We had balanced expectations for a taqueria and Jalapeno Shack just did not deliver.

So many halal Mexican options and now there’s Jalapeño Shack added to the list in Long Island! You can customize your order based on what you like. They have several protein options which can be added to any bowl, taco, or quesadilla of your choice. Their sauces added a kick to it and their dulche de leche churro is a must try.

As a local guide I would highly recommend this place. It’s halal and delicious . Burrito bowl is one of my favorite. The restaurant owner always pay attention to the customer and try to provide best food.

I LOVED THE FOOD! But, this is NOT fast food, I waited a total of one hour in the store with only two workers. Four customers in front of me, everything made fresh, I waited about 25 minutes just to place my order, and another 25 to get my food made. Some items weren’t available because they needed to make more, but were too busy. The food was cold by the time I got it home, but very tasty once warmed up.
