Jake’s Steaks was started by a Philly native who has a goal to provide the best-tasting cheesesteaks in or out of Philadelphia. It is a good sign when half the people at Jake’s Steaks joint are from Philly. For the unenlightened, a cheesesteak consists of a heap of shredded beef and onion, tossed on a griddle, piled onto a uniquely chewy but tender Amoroso roll imported from Philadelphia, and topped with Cheese Whiz, which melts into the sandwich.

Authentic as you can get being this far from Philly. They use the Amaroso rolls and the meat is done right. This is their second location and just as good if not better than the Marina spot. If you bleed green and are in need, stop by. Much approved. Go Birds.

These cheesesteaks are absolutely fantastic. Melt in your mouth with just the right amount of cheese. I got the mushroom special and inhaled it. The curly fries are crispy and go perfectly with the extra side of cheeze wiz that came with the sandwich.
