We always stop in for a couple of chili dogs when we’re in town. Been going here for decades. A unique sweet chili dog that you’ll either love or hate.

Tried this place for the first time after looking at the pictures from other reviews. I got an Italian Sausage, a BBQ Pulled Pork, an Italian Beef and a cheese fry. I was disappointed in the food and it gave off “hangover food” vibes. The Sausage looked like it was either fried or left in water then steamed. The BBQ Pulled Pork was decent, but was lower quality. Tried a piece of the Italian Beef, but it honestly didn’t have much flavor or seasoning. The Cheese fries looked more appealing in the picture since they put the cheese on the fries and then served them. When I got them it was fries with a cup of cheese.

I took my grandmother here and I’m delighted I did!! Cierra was the sweetest server and was so so kind to my grandmother. The other gal that was serving (didn’t catch her name) was also so sweet. Cute little spot to with shade to stop with family, good people, and good food!

This little stop is great. You can’t take your family very many places and get good fresh food without spending a ton. This is not a healthy pitstop but it’s worth the calories!

Ordered a Chicago style hot dog. It had mustard, onion, relish, pickle slices (not a spear), pepperoncinis (not sport peppers), no tomato. Next time I’ll try the Italian beef maybe they can get that one right.

First, do not call something a Chicago Dog that is not a Chicago Dog. They say it’s their version, well then call it a Jaenicke Dog. The hot dogs were small and not beef, but that’s on me for not asking if they were beef hot dogs. They do not have tomatoes or cucumbers for you dogs. Next, when you have chili dogs on the menu, please provide actual chili on the dogs. Doesn’t seem too complicated. When my husband looked at his dogs and said there wasn’t any chili on them he was told, yes, there is chili sauce on the bottom. So I asked, “You don’t have chili? You only have chili “sauce”? They answered yes they have chili sauce. I told them then you need to tell people that instead of calling it a chili dog because those are 2 different things. Finally, the girl taking our order was not listening or paying attention. There was only 1 other order ahead of ours so was not busy at the time we went. I ordered 1 Dog and a fry, got 2 dogs no fry. She said she didn’t hear me. And when my husband questioned about there being no chili on his dogs she said you didn’t order chili dogs. Then she looked down at her order pad and saw that yes he had in fact ordered chili dogs that she had written down. When she called to the back about the missing chili, that’s when we found out about the chili “sauce”. The outside dining is nice enough and the fries were ok. But that is about the best I can say about this place.

Quality of food and taste is not as good as the Kankakee. There is a noticeable difference from what I had a few years ago, to now. And a big difference from the original in Kankakee.

Don’t order a Chicago Dog here. Their version of a Chicago Dog is a regular hot dog. Hubby likes to come here. I am not a fan. Popular local place but so many other places to get a Chicago Dog that really is a Chicago Dog.

The product quality has changed so much! The cheese for your hot dog is a light yellow, flavors, watery mess! The product had been insistent in past years, but this year it is just all around bad. No more for us.

Been coming here for years! Hot dogs and service were good, but you REALLY need to go back to the old cheese for cheese fries! New stuff is not any good, at all!!!
