Prior to discovering Jade Restaurant, I was saddened by the fact that there is no option for good tasting dim sum that operates their business with dignity and honest price point in Austin. That I would have to drive to Dallas or Houston for Authentic dim sum.

Went to Jade just for Dimsum and got to say one of the best Dimsum places in Austin for quality and price. This will be my go to dimsum place from now on in Austin. This place has a authentic feeling compared to all the other fusion dimsum places. The staff was great and friendly too.

This place is good. It serves nice food that tastes very Chinese, which I love. Not the finest taste which I had with Chinese food though. I never tried other Chinese places in Texas so hard to compare but I tasted plenty others all around the globe.

Delicious and very friendly owners and staff- felt like home with an amazing Chef and the kind of place that you linger with great conversation-Must try. Great date and group night and sharing is recommended so you experience more-large portions. Also sharing helps the pocketbook. Great location in Westlake off of 360. Also saw a lot of people picking up to go.

We decide to order some take out from Jade today and let me tell you, we were not disappointed. The lunch portions were plenty and delicious. I will definitely need to come back for dinner.

Our family of 5 decided to try out the dim sum here as we were missing the NY/Houston dim sum scene and Austin no longer had any good dim sum places. Everything was going smoothly until it came time to pay the bill. The manager/owner explained to us before we gave her our credit card that the 20% tip was already included in the price of the check. My husband politely nodded his head and paid. When it came time to sign the credit card receipt, he drew a line in the tip row (because it had already been included) and just wrote the total at the bottom and then signed his name and gave it back to the waitress. He then bought my son outside to wait for the rest of us to wash our hands. As he is waiting, the manager had the audacity to run outside and say that they “forgot” to charge something on our bill (we assume this being the tip). We think one of the employees saw nothing written on the “tip” section of the credit card receipt and thought we did not tip! We aren’t sure why the manager would even question it as she was the one who gave us the check and stated that the tip was already included in the total. My husband was polite the whole time she “double checked” our receipt and she apologized when she saw everything was correctly charged and went back inside. I would like to say that we have no problem with tipping and usually tip very well but feel that some restaurants are abusing this system. The amount people tip should depend on the level of service they feel they received and should be able to be adjusted not simply included in the total bill. I have also never heard of anyone chasing anyone down let alone accusing them of not tipping especially if they were the ones that made the mistake. Service aside their food wasn’t too bad. Unfortunately, they don’t have a very large selection of dim sum.

Only if I could give ZERO star for the service – No service. Came here 3 times since last June (2020), twice during brunch Dim sum and once for dinner, two out of three were seated at the table with this very unhappy waitress. Literally no smile at all on her face, no greeting not attentive…. First time I thought she was having a bad day, but the 2nd time she’s the same way… seemed angry. We needed couple more minutes to look at the menu, but she never came back for about 10+ minutes till finally I called her attention while she passing by our table several times without looking at us. Never came back to ask how were the food nor needing anything else. No acknowledgment when I politely ask for refills on water, and no surprise, never came with check at the end. I had to walk to the register and ask for to-go containers and our check… sigh! I’m really disappointed of the service. We drove across town here for the dim sum at dinner time, but it’s not really worth it at all. We could get Americanized Asian food anywhere w/o being treated like this. So we won’t be back. As for the food, dim sum were good, dinner dishes were mediocre, jalapeño chicken was flavorless. Portions were okay for the price. Typical. Give 3 stars for the food.

Probably the best dim sum in Austin right now. Better prices than Lin’s and just as tasty. Also – no wait when we came for Sunday brunch, which is miraculous in itself. Unfortunately no cart service yet. Get those wontons in chili oil!

Dim sum was served during lunch but you could ask for dinner menu for other type of food. The shanghai soup dumpling skin is too thick which could taste better with thinner one. Overall dimsum is decent.
