This was my first time here. It was for a red egg and ginger party on a Saturday for lunch. The restaurant shares a parking lot, and there was plenty of parking. (There is a lightrail stop right outside, so make sure to take all your valuables with you). The food is pretty good. We had 10 courses, which were baked bbq pork buns, broccoli beef, salt pepper fish, beef chow fun, salted fish chicken fried rice, lemon chicken, mapo tofu, stir fried string beans, egg tarts and mango pudding. Our table’s favorite were the string beans and salt pepper fish. I liked the mapo tofu, the egg tarts, and the mango pudding. I would come back.

We didn’t have a wait on a Sunday at 11am for 4 people. Menu & ordering done on phone. Free wifi. 2 hr street parking + parking lot. Super efficient and delicious dim sum!

Best dim sum in San José in my opinion! The staff is very kind and the food is out of this world delicious! We love going with large groups so we can order more off the menu and share it all family style. You have to make sure you save room for the egg custard buns!

Tablet ordering is the best pro! Very easy to use, photos available, and convenient to order without waiting for a server.

The food deserved 5 stars because it is always fresh and delicious. The servers are friendly but not super attentive due to the large floor space. The ambiance needs improvement and feels very much like a cafeteria with tall ceilings, brightish lighting, absence of wall art and green chairs with retro gold trim lacks warmth and character. A couple of aesthetic improvements and more server support would make Jade Cathay’s a popular South Bay favorite.

It was whatever Chinese, you sit down at a table and scan the bar code for the menus and order online than someone brings out your order on a cart. I felt like I was in a cafeteria. The Mongolian beef came out raw, noodles where dry.

The Beijing duck is a actually a bun sandwich, there was no picture in the tablet menu, thought it was simply a duck dish 🙁
