This is an average place. The food fills the belly. The salsa was good. The queso dip is cheese thinned with milk, no onions, or peppers in it. My chimichanga was not deep fried, and the tortilla was still doughy. Same for my enchilada. So I just ate the shredded chicken that was inside, and it was good. The rice was good, as were the refried beans. The enchiladas, burrito, and tamale plate the food was not hot and would rate it with 2 stars.

Normally this place is one of the best restaurants in the area. My family drives down from emporia once or twice a month to eat with few if any complaints. Today’s experience (July 30, 2023) was so bad I felt obliged to write this review.

There special tonight was chicken fries steak. It was tough and a lot of fat. Wife just had a burrito and she said it was tough to cut through. Server left dirty plates and never picked up the dirty plates. Table was covered with them. Don’t eat here.

Nice lunch spot. Close to the highway, easy to park whatever your driving. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Food is good with minimal wait time. I will visit again.
