The pork chops were chewy…the rice was overcooked…the greens were watery…the mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box and the cornbread cakey. The positive…the food was hot…but I credit the delivery driver for arriving so quickly. This was my first and last time eating from this establishment. I threw the food out. Money wasted. Such a disappointment.

A few years ago, my. boyfriend and I bought food from there thinking it was real southern cooking. Nope! The owners are not even from the South! The chicken was dry with no flavor! Collard greens were abismal. To top it off, the owners also run the pizza shop next door. Same people cooking the ‘southern food’ are the ones whipping up pizza.

OMGOODNESS they are the bomb The pig feet dinner is my/our favorite Me and my 82 year old mom travel almost 20 miles for the pig feet. I love their greens, potato salad and my mom always gets macaroni and cheese plus cabbage. I give them props for cooking soul food that is equivalent to mine & my mom’s.

First time ordering from this place. My fiancé got the smothered pork chops over rice and the ribs. He barely ate his food and he always eats his food so I knew it was a problem. I got the catfish and chicken wings with collard greens. Greens were sweet and salty which was weird to me. The chicken was bland and even when I added my own seasonings it still had no flavor and was not crispy. The catfish was meh very soggy and salty. Would not eat here again

So I feel compelled to write a review after reading all of the terrible ones. I just finished eating my first meal from this restaurant, as I am new to the area. I ordered before reading the reviews, so I was a little worried while I waited for my food, expecting the worst. Delivery was early- before projected time- and driver was polite and efficient. My chicken salad sandwich was just like my mom always made, and the tomato and roll were fresh and good. The hush puppies were also enjoyable- crunchy but not dry. I noted the diced onion and herbs inside. The macaroni and cheese was not for me, as it is very bland. That being said, it WAS like all the macaroni and cheese I’ve had in South Carolina (generally plain, made with egg). Slaw was creamy and delicious. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I hope they continue to provide consistency in their cooking and service.
