Oishi. Such a refreshingly cozy atmosphere in the Waikiki area. Everything we ate and drank was delicious. The prices are reasonable too, which is rare in the area. If I were a local, this would be a regular spot.

Very pleasant surprise. We did a to-go order, it took ~30 min to get our food. We’ll definitely order again or come dine at the restaurant.

Small cozy little hole in the wall, it reminded me of the izakayas in Tokyo.

Managed to call in an impromptu reservation an hour ahead and so glad we did! Atmosphere and food 10/10.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. My wife and I left devastatingly gut busted and tipsy for under $100. Outrageous.

A local gem of a culinary experience off a side street in Waikiki. It is authentic as any Izakaya I’ve been to (and I’ve been to Japan a few times). Clearly a place with regulars and a great variety of local small bites from noodles to grilled fish and chicken items. Good saki ($10 a glass) and beers. A place to hang out and talk story with friends or to make new ones and the people running it are quite friendly.

Very delicious Japanese food. Everything is definitely done right. Reservations are a must unless you want to come early and try to snag a seat outdoors.

I usually don’t leave reviews but felt like I had to. We were waiting outside for 10min without anyone to greet us, when I finally walked inside, I was told “wait outside”. I asked for wait time which was 20-30min, we put down our name and came back in 10min and the table was given to someone after us because we weren’t here. We were told “you should be here”.

My sister and I eat here every chance we get. The food is so delicious and fresh! This is real traditional Japanese food, prepared with love. The grilled mackerel was our favorite, but the takoyaki and ebi shumai were delicious as well. (It’s all really fresh, so careful not to burn your mouth!)
