Tried this food truck for first time based on an Edible Memphis posting about it. The jerk chicken is AMAZING and the Peas & Rice is very flavorful with good jerk kick. The side item of rice/peas was Huge! Unfortunately, the fried meat pie was really disappointing as it was quite bland, but the jerk bbq sauce supplied with it was spicy and helps if you dip it, but all you taste then is the sauce. Let me say again, the Chicken, GET THE CHICKEN!

We had the opportunity to stop by Island Paradise Takeout while traveling across the country. People were parked waiting for the arrival of the truck and although the set up was a bit slow, the food made up for the delay. We spent just under $60 for our meal. Very large portions to the point where I could not eat it all and if you know me I love me some good authentic Jamaican food. I recommend this food truck for true authentic Jamaican taste. You will not be disappointed!!!! Thank you Island Paradise Take out. Nuff respect!!

I’ve gotten food from here a few times and there is a long wait depending on the time of the day and how many other orders are being prepared. However, it is worth the wait as the food is made fresh to order and it is consistently delicious. They have the BEST Jamaican food in Memphis‼️

Great food. Enormous portions! Couldn’t eat it all in one sitting. Wait time was about 9 minutes from order to delivery of food. Food was steaming hot. Did I mention that it was delicious? I will be returning soon.

This is the best pasta i’ve ever tasted in my life. I don’t care what nobody says about the wait time it is extremely worth it . Order online two hours in advance that will save you plenty of time. The guy is extremely professional and sanitary. All the food is made fresh and cooked to order. Don’t walk run to Island Paradise you most definitely won’t regret it. Hopefully my food will make it home to post pictures.

Let me start out by saying that the food is **TOP TIER**!!! Does NOT disappoint!!! Food comes to you very hot and portion sizes are huge which is a bonus. Each time I’ve gone my order is absolutely delicious, island flavor truly comes thru. Both times I had the jerk shrimp & chicken alfredo. Food wise 5-STARS & worth every penny!!!! But now on to the rest of the review. I’m going to be a little critical, however I hope this review reaches the owner and I want the owner to know that this comes from a place of love and will hopefully bring about some changes in a good way. I’ve gone to Island Paradise twice within a four day period. That should tell you how delicious the food is but with that being said, here’s the other side of customer service from my perspective. The wait time is VERY extreme from the time of placing the food order to actually receiving the food. If you are in a hurry or have a short break, proceed with caution, you may want this to be your last option. Your food will be extremely fresh and extremely hot no doubt… but there is a long wait time even when ordered online ahead of time. For example, Sat I placed an online order at 12:45pm and my pick up time was 2pm, that’s an hour after opening. My food was not ready at 2, more like after 2:30pm. Today my online order was placed at 1:24pm with a pick up time of 2pm. I arrived at 2:35p. Order was not ready until 3:30pm. So I’m not sure at what point the food is being prepared but there is a long wait time. No one tries to explain to you why the long wait, you’ll just get “we’ll call your name when your order is ready.” That’s it. Consider giving out a free soda or bottled water for the long wait, just something to let the customer know that you really appreciate the patience. It’ll go a long way. Maybe consider not giving out an estimated time for pick up for online orders because it’s not accurate. Next thing is I think a pull down screen would be very efficient to keep flys, gnats etc, under control. There may not be an issue now but with summer heat and food there could be.

I’ve tried Island Paradise several times. But after waiting almost two hours twice for orders that were scheduled online I can’t do it anymore. The lack of apologies, communication and professionalism exceeds the quality of the food. Being a patient and repeat customer doesn’t do anything. So I am leaving a public review hoping they will do better in the future.
