Strange little Cafe. Betty Boop is everywhere. Food is good for the price. Service needs help. There are 2 ladies that have been there for some time. They are good. If you get the new server, which we seem to get when we go. Yes, different every time. Not so great.

Like many businesses, they seem to be struggling with staff. Only 1 server, running around like crazy, but so pleasant when taking our order, so kudos to her! Food was delivered in a timely manner, and was very good. Another employee was helping pour coffee, remove plates, etc.

We did a take out order . My wife had the bacon scrambler. She asked for a light sprinkle ⁰of cheese. That’s things went bad. My wife’s food had so much cheese on top she wasn’t sure there were eggs under the cheese.

I’m very disappointed in this establishment. This was my first time at Island Lake Cafe, and I was looking forward to trying the highly-advertised soup. I ordered a bowl of chicken dumpling soup, and it looked and tasted like it was straight out of a can, nothing “home-made” about it. The broth was filled with the same seasoning you’d find in a Ramen Cup-of-Noodles, and the broth began to get very cloudy after a few minutes of not being touched. In addition to the soup, I ordered the Island Scrambler, which also tasted like it was in no way, shape, or form “home-made.” This scrambler tasted like it was straight out of the microwave, and all of the food did not sit well with my stomach at all. Overall, I will not be coming back as I found the quality of the food to be VERY subpar.

I really wanted this cute place to become a regular stop for us. But seriously, tried the fish fry and it was so disappointing. Everything we were served was prepackaged, frozen and fried, or not made there. The staff was very friendly but the food not so much.
