Came here today with my friend for our first time and now I see why they have such high reviews. This place hands down has some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. The decor in this place is really next level. Felt like I was in little Egypt. Onto the food, our server was very sweet and answered your questions. The food came out hot and very fresh. I was seriously impressed with the quality of the food. Ended up going with the chicken Shawarma sandwich/bowl of lentils while my friend got plate of boneless chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection. At the end of our dinner we were served some tea which was amazing. I really like how they put on a show while getting your tea..nice little bonus. Overall this place really blew my mind and looking forward to coming back to try more items from the menu.

Ishtar Restaurant offers an authentic Middle Eastern dining experience, although it may be on the pricier side. The restaurant boasts a pleasant and inviting atmosphere that exudes a touch of elegance. The decor and ambiance transport you to the Middle East, making for a delightful dining setting.

We normally get carryout from Ishtar cause I know this place can be super busy. Today we went there for lunch on a Monday and it’s way less crowded.

Amazing food, came with the family and we all loved it. Make sure you ask for the Iraqi sauce cause it’s so good with the meat. We got the platter for 7 and had so much left over! The only thing I didn’t like was the pickles.

Love the food and ambience at Ishtar. Their Kabab (shish kafta) are best in Michigan and all of US. Baba ganoush is out this world and goes very well with Kabab. Hummus is also very good. You can order platter of baba ganoush, hummus and taboli that comes in a portion of 3. Also.they have live music on the weekends

I walked into this Iraqi restaurant with expectations as high as the city’s skyline, courtesy of the strong recommendations from friends. Unfortunately, I found myself navigating through an underwhelming culinary experience. The Shawerma, a dish that should be teeming with flavor, was disappointingly bland. The Meat Teshreeb, while passable, was a far cry from the rich, hearty stew I had anticipated.

Tonight I had the pleasure of going out to eat with a few family & friends at Ishtar, our first time there. It’s was a great experience start to finish, top to bottom. This is the best and most authentic Iraqi food you’ll find outside of Iraq itself, I’ve been told by more than one person, and I believe it!

Nice authentic delicious Iraqi dishes.. their kebab is to die for.. Quzi Al Sham is amazing .. we have also tried their lamb Quzi and Delemiah and both were delicious.. we are regulars and will continue to be.. The only thing they can improve is that their music is very loud on the weekend .. they should bring it down a bit..

Amazing food from Iraq. I frequent quite a few middle eastern restaurants. This one so far is the nest I’ve had. All very fresh.
