Our menu is inspired by the street stall food found in open air markets throughout Mexico. Regionally unique and fun to eat, we pay special attention to the mercados (markets) of Mexico City where culinary roads converge and morph with cross-cultural influences. The result is a diverse menu of dishes best shared with friends and colleagues and a cold drink.
Our beverages include a well-curated list of tequila, mezcal, rum, and whisky.
The bold sibling to neighboring restaurant Mani Osteria & Bar, Isalita is Ann Arbor’s very own Mexican Cantina. With reverence to our trips to Mexico, Isalita recreates the warmth, laughter and mi casa es su casa spirit of Mexico.
Mexican standards served in a rustic space with painted-brick walls & a festive streetside patio. Based on 840 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.3 stars. Price $$

Mexican food—that cuisine that Mexicans often say is mostly alien to them. I can’t get into the debate of what’s real or what’s fake but I can on what tastes good and won’t give you heartburn or rather myself heartburn. This gem of a place serves elevated Mexican. It may not be generous, genuine or the food you’re accustomed to eating but it’s nonetheless flavorful without making compromises.

So yummy but expensive! I got the steak quesadilla and it was delicious. The margaritas were VERY strong, so if you’re weak like me, it won’t be a great experience. Guacamole was OK. The other people I was with had tacos and enjoyed them. Just $$!!! The staff is nice, though. Maybe squeeze in a visit during their happy hour?

This place has such a great vibe for a night out or even a formal dinner. The fajita was really tasty and the chicken tacos were also hot and fresh. Margaritas are very creative though personally find the classic one the safest and less weird. They are a perfect match with all the food!

The Baja fish tacos were slightly underwhelming, in comparison, in the party I was with both the rock shrimp tacos, and the cauliflower tacos were ordered and looked and tasted superb. The chicken in the fajitas was delicious and the portion was perfect for being split between 2.

Please bring back the Al Pastor taco!!! So sad that it was taken off recently. After trying many of the tacos on the menu, it really stood out as the best one.

Crowded place for good reason. Fantastic food and great service. The rock shrimp tacos are the best shrimp tacos I’ve ever had! Mocktails and regular drinks were really good too. They make their chips fresh too. Delicious!

One of my favorite places to go when I visit A2. The food is always great, especially the fish tacos. Don’t miss the prickly pear margaritas, they’re absolutely delicious! The only drawback is that it’s a bit loud, but the decor is cute. Definitely recommend!

Cannot say enough about the tortilla chips.. the absolute best! Salty, warm and delicious! Salsa verde is spectacular, too! The pork in the carnitas tacos was juicy and yummy, the cod (fish stick) in the fish tacos not so much. Very dry and more breading than fish. Vibe inside is awesome, outside seating is odd and cramped. Staff very nice!

Disappointing. The portion sizes were small compared to the price that we paid for them. Their chips and salsa trio was great, but everything else not so much. Ordered their Potato Quesadilla and it was super salty. The Mango Habanero Margarita was sour. Our server was pleasant and so was the atmosphere of the restaurant.
