Stopped in on our way to Wyoming. I can’t get over how cute this little town is. Beautiful small town USA. The Iron Horse Cafe continued that sweet vibe. Clean and quaint with the friendliest staff. We had a Buffalo Caesar Wrap, Club Sandwich and a BLT, loved all of them. Fresh ingredients and the Fries were SO YUMMY! If you’re driving I90 between Butte and Billings, I recommend grabbing a bite at Iron Horse Cafe & Pie Shop and don’t make the mistake that we did, SAVE ROOM for dessert. Their Fresh Pies looked amazing!!

The amount of love I have for this small town cafe can not be put into words, but I will try. The food and desserts are absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, and the timing was great even with the place being packed. The best part is they are Veteran owned, I’ve already ordered another pie to pick up next week.

You have got to find this place! It has the best comfort food. And pies to die for… They are personable and make you feel like family. All the food is made fresh so you have to be patient but is well worth the wait and gives you all the more time to visit and chat. We were on vacation to Montana and the Iron Horse was our first stop after picking up rental car at Billings airport. We were looking for a local place to eat. When we got there there were no seats for the four of us but there were two people at one of the booths that could hold four and they were so kind to move to a smaller table so we could be seated right away. It was such a kind gesture that we immediately felt welcome. What a great way to start what turned out to be a great vacation and as we were headed back to the airport at the end of our vacation we stopped there again for lunch.

I checked reviews before and thought I’d give it a try! The Service was great and food was really good. Hamburgers were made fresh and we all loved our food.

We arrived when it wasn’t too busy. Food was fine, but service was stellar – friendly and helpful. Even the cook came out to make sure the order was right. The pies look amazing, but dieting so none for us. We really enjoyed our time here.

My husband and I and our two teenagers found this gem on our way from Glacier to Yellowstone national parks. On our long drive, it was the most welcoming spot we could have picked. As outstanding as the food was (best French dip I ever had), the friendly service is what I’ll remember. When traveling I like to find local food, beer and conversation, and this spot made me want to stay for a spell. Iron Horse Cafe is yet another thing to love about Montana.

Stopped in to specifically have huckleberry pie. Unfortunately they were sold out. Luckily the wonderful and very friendly people there suggested the huckleberry ice cream. Got that with the German chocolate pie. Crust was ridiculous, like a butter cookie. Would love the recipe. So good, I would have taken a picture but got wrapped up in the experience instead. Love the humor there and the vibe, right down to the sign on the lav that made me laugh. Great stop.

The food here was very good, no doubt about that. The main issue we had, as well as others that were at the restaurant around us was the timing and service.

If you saw the sign telling of pies, but you still passed it by, it was your loss. We stopped in for a quick bite on a road trip, split an amazing turkey sandwich with raspberry jam and sliced apples and loved it.
