Excellent pizza. It’s not perfectly consistent though. Slight deviations in crust chew, but the flavor and char are always perfect. They use really great cheeses. I’d highly recommend the pistachio pesto with a red sauce to dip into on the side. Their margherita is also fantastic. Overall I’d say Inizio is the best pizza I’ve found anywhere in the area outside of downtown Charlotte. If you want New York style head to slice house, if you appreciate a modern Neapolitan style, you’ll love this.

The place was really nice and so were the employees. We ordered, grabbed some water, and sat down. In less than 5 minutes the pizza was served. I was quite disappointed. The crust was super thin (if that’s what you like you’ll love this place), and the clumps of cheese were thicker than the pizza. The crust was gross and a weird chewy consistency. The pepperoni was spicy. AND it was $25.97! For a 16 inch 8 slice pizza WITHOUT drinks! And I was expecting a waiter, but it was an over the counter sort of thing. We will not be coming back.

I have had the good fortune of eating Pizza in Italy. Inizio does it right! I called Jeff, the manager, over to our table. And I told him that I am really impressed. He told us the ingredients come from Italy. We had the Raffaele. The sausage & sweet pepper just combine beautifully! You really feel like you are having a taste of Italy!

UPDATE: The manager at Inizio contacted me regarding our experience and offered to refund 2 of our pizzas. I explained I didn’t want the money back, I was raising a flag for change yet he insisted and I saw a refund on my card. I picked up or usual order for take out last night and was DELIGHTED to have the same great quality we’ve come to expect. WELL DONE!

Good pizza, mostly consistent (depends on who is running the oven). If you have time to dine in, you really should. This pizza is best when fresh, and the quality drops dramatically overtime. Carry out is never going to be even close to as good as fresh.
