Started good–cool look, appealing menu. Then it got better. The special Brussels sprouts appetizer was terrific. The smoked tofu appetizer was also enjoyable, if a bit light. Then things turned south. The tofu on the veggie banh mi was good, but totally wrong for banh mi, as it was neither saucy nor flavorful. The kale, pear, and candied pecan salad was dry and tough, and the candied pecans didn’t appear to be candied at all. My wife felt her pad thai tasted like cheese. Such a disappointment after that strong start!

Went in on a Friday night a few weeks ago to get an order for takeout. It wasn’t packed, but the guy behind the bar was clearly stressed out and off his game. He acted like it was a huge hassle to answer my one question about the dish, scowled when I smiled and tried to be pleasant, then stalked off before giving me an indication of when my order would be ready. Then he came out from behind the bar and made a big show of schmoozing with other customers. Maybe those folks were his family or a reviewer? No idea, but that’s not a good excuse either way.

Interesting decor and atmosphere including outside tables. The chili calamari and oysters were excellent while the PadThai and the asian-tofu salad were a bit on the bland side although still good. Great choice for a casual dinner with easy parking and kid friendly.

The only legitimate sushi place in the area (MoCo), certainly in Potomac. Quality of fish (and all ingredients) is much higher than your average sushi place. They make their own miso soup, too. No mixes here (unless it’s some boutique miso blend I don’t know about!)…mushroom slices and GOOD tofu pieces are the highlights here.
