The food is delicious. The only reason I’m giving this place a 4 star and not 5 is the fact that I had to wait an additional 30 minutes past when they said my takeout would be ready before it was actually ready. If you’re starving and order takeout, bear in mind that there may be a loooooooong wait. Otherwise, I highly recommend the food!

Great Indian food! The buffet wasn’t open when I was there, but the lamb dishes were really good and chicken looked authentic as well. Would love to go back when the buffet is open. Not cheap for the quantity, but thf quality is good. Hot naan was fresh and buttered!

This is the 3rd time I have been to India star and it is fantastic. I ordered shrimp curry, lamb curry, tandoori chicken, mango lasi. Every dish was really good and the mago lasi was also really good. Staffs are nice and friendly, but keep in mind they only have one waiter so it will be a bit of a wait after you order.

I ordered for take out and this was my first time ordering Indian food. I know they are so similar but I got chicken korma and butter chicken with garlic nan… and just yum. Worth the price and wait. Staff was friendly on the phone and in person on pick up. Clean place and smelled good when I walked in. Sorry my picture is horrible but it was delicious. Around 34$ I believe for two dinner entrees and garlic naan with side of mango chutney (which was to die for)

I prefer Indian food to be “Indian”… if it’s spicy in India, I want it spicy like that. I ordered Chicken Vindaloo, spiciest of the Indian curries, and asked for very spicy… it was great! The lamb biriyani, great, super flavorful. The pakora and the raita, the cucumber yogurt sauce, among the best I’ve ever had…

Loyal patron for over 12 years. Today my food took 1 hour and 46 minutes with 40 minutes waiting in the restaurant as I was told it would take an hour when I called. During my 40 minute wait I did not get a single apology, just arms thrown in the air. When I asked when my food would be ready I was told “I don’t know. It’s ready when it’s ready. Take a seat.” 12 years & countless referrals. Its so unfortunate that there is a complete lack of motivation to treat any customers politely at all, so unfortunate.

If you absolutely have to eat Indian food while in Des Moines, this is probably the place to visit. When compared to other local options, it’s a solid choice for selection and quality. Be prepared to wait awhile, though.

The samosas are great and the people are nice. But the naan was not fresh or buttered, and the chicken tikka masala had pan-cooked chicken breast in it. Please don’t cut corners like that; we can tell.

The samosas were out of this world, the non was fantastic and the chicken kebab was good. Though I wish I had gotten the curry because that looked fantastic.

Waiter really friendly, good variety of food choices, very few dishes to worry about with my nut allergy, lots of vegetarian options. Dishes a little smaller than other restaurants we’ve been too but definitely a good size for the meal itself.
