Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria is both a restaurant and a production outpost—specializing in house-cured meats and home baked breads. The key to our conception is the Alimentari, or market—where a multitude of local and Italian imported artisan products line the shelves, including the il Buco original product line of Italian extra virgin olive oils, vinegars and sea salts.
Upmarket, carefully sourced Mediterranean plates served in a rustic-chic space with a wine cellar. Based on 837 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $$$

Great service and great food. We had a tartar, pasta cacio e pepe and spaghetti which were incredible, Al dente and just like they should be. Desert of pannacota is magnificent.

Love all of the Italian fare at Il Buco AV. The starters, pastas, pizzas, sides and mains are consistently solid under Chef Justin’s helm. The shortribs are not to be missed! Loved the spicy olive pizza too.

Amazing food and atmosphere. The area is spacious and the decor is thoughtfully picked out. The restaurant also sells sandwiches and bakery items near the front, in addition to pasta and cheese. We started off the a charcuterie board with some bread (would recommend). I loved the garganelli pasta with forest mushrooms and arugula. The flavours all worked so well together and I really enjoyed the pasta itself. Would definitely come again!

Love the entire Il Buco branding from their restaurants in the East Village region to their ceramics stores in Amangasset. This place has a great selection of Italian wines with a wide variety of charcuterie to accompany. I usually only come here for drinks so not too sure about their food. Celebrated a birthday here and their waiter was beyond friendly. Recommend anyone looking for a good vibe in this region that is usually not too busy.

Came here for a birthday dinner with a pre fixed menu. Everything was spot on. Clearly high quality ingredients, really nicely flavored, and a beautiful location. The pizza was amazing.

Love this place, haven’t been here for at least 7 years and coming back was a great pleasure. It still has the same charm and food quality is great. Super nice staff. Pasta is out of this world. But the best part for me is still the ambiance. Little details. My fav area of nyc. Highly recommended. Sit at the bar, get a nice glass of wine and a pasta, and enjoy

Pleasant atmosphere. Bench seating on the second floor. Service was great, a server was never far from us. Drinks were flowing, old fashioned was very smooth. I ordered the pepperoni pizza which was a bit too thick and hard for my taste, but flavor was still good.

This used to be one of my favorite places in the city. (We even got a sculpture for our house by Warren Muller after coming to like the chandelier in their restaurant.)
