Had lunch at II Bacco today for the first time. The restaurant is beautiful, the food was solid, and the service was great. We will definitely be back. This is one of the nicer Italian restaurants in Queens.

Strange how tastes and sounds can transport one back decades to their childhood. It feels more like Giuseppe “Joe” the owner, is personally welcoming you at his home, albeit one with a magnificent dining room, for dinner. He sits at your table and then you catch up on all that’s happened in the world. Pour a good Amarone and savor some excellent Italian food that Nona’s prepared lovingly. All is well with the world again after dining here, a true respite from daily nonsense. Did I mention that ALL the food was really, really good too?

What an amazingly great dining experience. The food and service were superb. The crab cake starter was one of the best I’ve had. My main with melt in your mouth pork over gnocchi were perfectly prepared. The cappuccino and cannolis for dessert were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend Il Bacco!

Pretty good food with a very attentive staff. Parking on the street is difficult but they do have valet parking

They do pour a nice martini but at $18 that’s what is expected. The food is generally quite average, rather heavy-handed and indelicate. The food prices are also way too high and only justifiable if the food is artfully prepared and sophisticated, which it never approached. $42 for a plate of linguini with 6 mussels, 4 chewy clams and 3 soggy shrimp is truly disappointing. We ordered a special stuffed artichoke. It was undercooked with the leaves tough and hard. We asked if we could order another one better cooked. Waiter returned and said there were no more left. This, a special at 6:30pm on a Friday seems odd. An hour later the table next to us had three stuffed artichokes. Very revealing to me what kind of slickness this place laid on us. They did take the artichoke off our bill and comped us one dessert for the table. Oh and yes, the double espresso I ordered was not hot. This place has its faithful following but I won’t be among that crowd.

This is very traditional Italian restaurant. When I entered the restaurant, two men, who seemed like have been working for a long time, welcomed me. The green olive and cheese were served with bread. I chose one of the special menu – Spaghetti with meatball and a Napoli pizza from the regular menu. Meatballs were very tender and tasty and pasta was good. Pizza was slightly salty for my taste because of capers but it was good in general. The price was also very reasonable.
