IHOP Menu – Algona, IA

Type : Breakfast restaurant

Location : Algona, IA

Since 1958, IHOP® has been the place where people connect over breakfast, enjoy study breaks, grab a bite before or after sporting events, and so much more. And no matter what menu items they order, there’s one ingredient that’s always constant — a smile. We’ve seen millions of smiles over the years in our restaurants, and now shared in photos across our social properties. In fact, smiles are so much a part of our culture that we changed our logo to include one.
This is just one of the many fun and exciting changes you can expect from IHOP®. Because we know the shortest distance between two people is a smile.

This was probably one of the worse places I’ve ate at in a long while. The food was disgusting and our server came to the table once, which there were maybe 5 tables total in the whole place. Thankfully we were just passing through and will never be back. I asked for the fish and chips, server corrected me and said “you mean fish and fries?!” I know what I said!! She Ended up bringing me fish and shrimp which I can’t have due to allergies!! The fish was burnt and looked nothing like the crispy golden brown pieces on the menu and were smaller than my hand! I guess that’s what you get for a run down gas station ihop!!

The food was pretty good. The waitresses were nice. The food did take a long time to come out and it came out separately with long breaks in between. It was very slow too, so I can’t imagine what it would’ve been like if they were busy. The thing that I can’t get passed is the price!! We are from cedar rapids and eat at ihop every now and then, and I think it’s pretty reasonably priced. I didn’t even look at prices when we were ordering. We had a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. Our bill was $60!!! I was so incredibly mad! Apparently the drinks don’t come with kids meals anymore. And $2.50 for a kids drink?! Everyone else charges 99 cents! Every other place around here is cheaper than big city prices but this IHOP over charges!! I will NOT go back!!

Place wasn’t busy on a Saturday afternoon. Is clean. Is comfortable. Staff is friendly and our server was punctual to our desires. The food absolutely delicious! And the prices are as should be. Expect to pay $15 – 20 per person. OH! AND COFFEE IS AMAZING WITH AND WITHOUT SUGAR!!!

Three of us went for dinner. All three of us got served at different times. The shrimp and fish combo was burnt and couldn’t eat it. I asked why she didn’t eat the strawberries that came with her french toast, she said they tasted terrible. The waitress said they had to make the hollandaise sauce. When it came out it was cold. She said they just take it out of a carton and heat in the microwave. After our meal we went looking in the gas station. The cook went looking for us in there and told us we were not very nice. We didn’t swear or raise our voices, just expressed that we weren’t happy with our food. They took $2.40 off our bill. All three of us will never ever step a foot in a IHOP again!

Good food, stopped for breakfast of course. The waiter was very helpful and talked to us for a short time and had a lot of humor. I will definitely stop again if I’m in the area!

This place shouldn’t even get 1 star. My husband and I went there to get brunch, he went to restroom, told me to get a table. Stood waiting, a male server came, told him table for 2. His reply was that I needed to wait for the gal to come and walked away. Another lady server saw me standing there but ignored me as well. The guy who wouldn’t seat me came back to register, still didn’t offer to seat me, he walked away again. My husband came back, was surprised to see me standing there. After 10 minutes of being ignored, we went to gas station side and bought breakfast sandwiches from them. If restaurant would’ve been busy, I maybe could understand, but it was not. Saved me approximately $35-$45 plus another $10 for tip. Thank you IHOP, guess you don’t need business that bad!!!

I had an insanely physical day. I was ready to crash. I fueled up and went in to collect my receipt. To my surprise there was an IHOP. I have Celiac and I miss real meals and waffles. Samantha was fantastic, very friendly and efficient. Couldn’t have asked for better service. Also, everything was cooked to perfection. I look forward to coming back.

We have eaten here a few times and never had problems. Today was awful. We had to wait 20 min to give our order. I would have been more patient except there seemed to be 3 waitresses just as many tables. We had to ask twice to get one of our drinks. After we got to order our food came out in about 10 min except my son’s cheese burger didn’t have bacon, literally took 15 min for bacon. I didn’t get my sides and my husband didn’t get his sides. We asked 2 different waitresses for the sides and bacon. We were both finished with our main dish before our sides came out and I didn’t even get one of my sides. It sounded like a party was going on in the kitchen. I get people make mistakes but this seemed excessive.

Keep on going, even MCD is better than this place. Wife’s over easy eggs were cold, bacon half done. I had country fried steak which you normally can’t screw up but they did. Dry and tasteless .Gravy was nothing more than flour with water, no flavoring, even hashbrowns were bad. They were cold and barely cooked, guessing dehydrated frozen. They couldn’t remember we had ordered milk and brought it halfway through. Ran out of bread for toast and pancakes partially done.
