Had the sandwich of the month, chicken salad & Swiss croissant, with fries and a root beer. Great portions. They make the root beer, and it’s the best I’ve ever had. You can’t beat the fries!! The sandwich hit the spot, I was in a hurry and it’s pretty warm where I’m working so it was light but filling. The atmosphere is VERY vintage diner feeling. The staff is very friendly and efficient.

Quaint little diner. Food is ok, a little dry. Salad with the “dinner” is a cup of lettuce only. Portions seem a bit small. Service was nice and friendly

Great little diner with super friendly service. The menu is purposefully small, and they have mastered it (try the pork tenderloin sandwich or tenderloin horseshoe). Sit at the counter for a vintage fun time, and be sure to grab a mug of their homemade root beer!

This place has a reputation for being the best little diner in Illinois. I’m not sure it lives up to that superlative but it is a great little place. I thought the fries were absolutely amazing 10/10. Pork tenderloin was under seasoned and kind of bland. The BLT was great. And shakes are amazing.

Cute “diner”. Had counter where you could sit and eat. Kind of reminds me of the 50s-60s diners. Homemade French fries were awesome, and burgers were good. My granddaughter had a root beer float that looked delicious. Waitress was very patient was us as we had 4 kids and 3 adults.

I ordered the pork sandwich, fries and small salad. The pork was fine as it is elsewhere, but the fries were very greasy and only luke warm. The small salad was only a few pieces of iceberg lettuce, not a salad.

Institution that you need to eat at if you are in Peru. Best pork tenderloin in the Illinois Valley. The handcut fries could have been a bit longer, but very tasty .

Great place to eat. Their fries are the best around and their porks are pretty damn good too!

Cute little place. Old school hamburgers and fresh cut fries. Both had very good flavor. We also ordered a strawberry shake and a chocolate malt. I would not recommend the shakes. They were not mixed well and it did not taste good. . Not many desserts to choose from. Wait staff was somewhat friendly. Laid back atmosphere.

I’ve been going to the igloo for almost my entire life. What else can you say about a place that keeps bringing you back time and time again? The igloo will always be a staple of the illinois valley, and if you’ve never been, I strongly suggest you check out this long running establishment.
