We literally cancelled our teppanyaki reservation at Suntory after a horrendous experience at Tananka East to avoid another overpriced tourist trap on the Waikiki strip (go read the recent reviews and you’d know what I mean) and ended up at this gem of a restaurant. It’s a bit further out in not the best neighborhood, but it’s literally our best meal in Honolulu and it was worth every penny. Don’t let the small number of reviews phase you, i-naba is the place to be for your teppanyaki experience. Chef Kobayashi was such a a delight. He skillfully prepared our muti course meal with devotion to the craft that is rare to witness in person. This is while our 4yr old is semi screaming in the background (sorry about this nobu-san).

Highly recommend this place! Our family tried the lunch special hamburger steak sets. Great value considering the level of high service, clean decor and dishes (this is a nice touch at some Japanese restaurants), and the fact that the hamburger steaks are cooked right in front of you!

I had an amazing time taking my family here it’s very traditional Japanese style tepanyaki. Chef Miyu was an amazing cook and her food was delicious and I will definitely be telling all my friends to come to this amazing restaurant . Amazing!!!!! This place is a great hole in the wall and defs somewhere you want to check out if your looking for something that isn’t packed. The sushi is so good and probably hands down one of the best I’ve personally had on island. Highly recommend and it’s new!
