Poke started as a snack or lunch made by fisherman from uncooked scraps of their catch seasoned with whatever was on hand. Originally, the fish was seasoned with sun dried sea salt. This was for seasoning as well as a means of preservation before refrigeration was an option. They might finish off the dish with some edible seaweed. This dish gained popularity, became a part of the mainstream Hawaiian life in the 1970’s and they started using ‘ahi tuna for its bright color and taste. Poke can be found fresh in supermarkets and restaurants across Hawaii and is largely considered a staple in the local cuisine.

Had the Eel and was great! Most Poke places have pretty mid toppings and rice but this place tastes fresh. Atmosphere coming in wasn’t what I expected, very millennial modern and homey, not what I expected coming in. Also aunty working the front and taller gentleman that was there when I came by were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back next time

I love all of the poke bowl selections and they also have booba drinks now! The new owner are super friendly and accommodating. The staff are also very accommodating especially Luis. So friendly! Can’t wait to go back again when I am on my diet mode:)))

I have been going there for poke bowl, they give you a good portion and the seasoning is perfect, not overly powering the seafood favor. I actually like it more than Miso now.

I C Poke has a good environment and atmosphere within the walls. The choices there are great. Got some spicy ahi and it was good. Not like the Hawaii poke as it is a but dressed up but it was good and filling. I wasn’t able to finish the bowl in one sitting. It was a but pricey but was delicious still.

Just had the Ahi Tuna bowl and it was straight gas pack. Ignore those other 3 star reviews especially if its ordered via delivery. Show up, grab a bowl, and you wont be disappointed.

i have been a faithful customer for years and always had great comments to give. under the new ownership yes there are more options but the amount of the protein you get now is very skimpy and they have done away with the punch cards which is a big disappointment. That was always a good advertisement, but i think i will be doing way less business now, sorry to say.

The “Big Island Bowl” is our favorite. A great variety of additions/toppings are available to suit any appetite and tastes.

I like the concept that you can mix and match to create what you want. I had the regular salad bowl with salmon and spicy tuna. The salmon was good but some of the tuna pieces tasted funny – maybe spoiled. You get pretty good amount of protein but overall, the salad was small for the price at a “fast” joint. Paired with miso soup, it was almost $15.
