The Chamber Magazine
This place is not well known and apparently does not advertise (that I have seen). It has been in business for about a year according to the cook when I went there. This is a good place to eat. I had a cheeseburger all-the-way, which was huge and good. All ingredients were fresh. The fries were particularly good. They used a seasoning that I can’t place, but it made them slightly spicy and flavorful. They have a good size menu, and are the only place I have seen in this area that offers rabbit (three pieces with hush puppies, fries, and slaw: $13.95 as of Aug. 27, 2022). Fortunately, they are open to 9:00 on M, W, F, but only to 5:00 on T, Th. From the outside, you wouldn’t know it was a restaurant except for the banners. Inside, it is cozy, sitting at most 15 people. There are lots of knick-knacks and odds and ends lying around giving it a bit more cramped than cozy atmosphere. They also sell some fresh produce and canned goods. But the place is clean. I went there on a Saturday morning about 11:00 and there was only one lady on duty, who was the cook and waitress, etc. This is a real, unexpected little gem in Dumas, where there are few restaurants. This is one of the few non-chain restaurants in town that serve burgers.
