This cozy eatery offers delicious Thai and Burmese food. My Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) were perfect with the lots of crispy veggies and my husband enjoyed his Burmese beef curry. I tried a new food- fried opo (squash). It was crispy and included a spicy sauce. Will definitely be back for more!

The drunken noodles were really good! This is an authentic Thai restaurant and it was definitely reflected in this dish. We also ordered the Maki sushi combo, which was just okay. I highly recommend this place for the noodles.

The Thai restaurant had a friendly Thai staff member that greeted and served our food. The food was delicious and plentiful. I took home some extra rice for the left over curry! The food looked so good I took some bites out before the picture! The restaurant was nicely and colorfully decorated with umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. Has a nice homey warm feeling.

Years ago, we discovered Burmese fermented tea salad in San Francisco and have been in love with it. So we were both excited to see it on the menu at Htaw Metta. This place is by far my favorite Asian restaurant in the Indianapolis area. It has fermented tea leaf salad and BOAT NOODLES!! I’m so happy to see a place that serves Burmese/Karen food (a staple in my old hometown of St. Paul, MN). The food was great. The in-house chili pepper sauce is wondrous. And the service was fantastic. The young man who served us was so pleasant, attentive, and we enjoyed speaking with him. Definitely a home-cooked-authentic-meal kinda place.

I thought I knew what good burmese beef curry was until I tried it here. Be advised it’s a chef’s special so it’s not always on the menu, but the curry was incredible. Also tried some of the Thai yellow curry, and the sushi. Everything was incredible quality, flavorful, and delivered promptly. The server was funny and delightful. THIS is my new go-to place when going through Indianapolis!

Great hidden gem in the Nora neighborhood. We wanted something with tons of flavor and spice, and they deliver. The goat curry is phenomenal, meaty, spiced and tender. Lots of Burmese and Thai options here. The basics like Pad Thai or drunken noodles are also available and excellent.

Had an incredible experience here. The Burmese food was absolutely delicious, especially the goat curry. They don’t hold back on spice, which is great! I had tea leaf salad for the first time and also fried opo, which was superb. Everyone working was very friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

Food was really good, fresh, & not greasy at all. But I ordered Thai hot and there was almost no spice at all which was very disappointing. Flavor and portion size was good but I only get Thai food because I want something spicier than anything else available & this didn’t hit the mark. I’ll have to try again.

I ordered the shrimp dumplings and Burmese Chicken Coconut Noddle Soup for lunch and both were sooo tasty. The dumplings were obviously handmade in the best sort of way and deliciously peppery. The noodles in the noodle soup were the stars though…I look forward to craving those specifically in the future.
