This was not our first time there. This time it was for a business luncheon. The food & drinks were just right to taste, to appearance and to our satisfaction. That was refreshing on a hot summer’s day. The hostess and the server were excellent and were tipped accordingly. Our server did what she could within her capacity as a lower level worker.

My first visit was exquisite. From the valet to the host upon arrival, we knew we made a great choice. The atmosphere was intimate and friendly. We loved the kitchen layout. It shows a level of confidence when preparing food for all to admire. And, Oh yes, this foodie was living. The pacing of our server was on point. We had time to enjoy every bite, have conversation, sip, and savor our meal. You’ve created another regular.

We went to Houston’s by recommendation. We started with the artichoke appetizer, it was SO good and the sauce was perfect! My husband and I shared the Hawaiian Ribeye with a baked potatoes and we added fresh cream corn. We split it and still had enough left over for a take home plate. The steak had the most amazing flavor my taste bud’s were doing a huge happy dance! The cream corn, you could taste the freshness in it and I even got a piece of silt from the shuck, I didn’t mind it showed how off fresh off the Cobb it truly was!!

The service was good! We were sat right away while we had 1 other person running late for traffic. We had drinks and she had a appetizer of grilled artichoke which I didn’t get a picture of. She loved it. The Hawaiian ribeye and house salad with honey mustard dressing is my go to dish at Houston’s no matter which one I go to. My friend loved the pork chop but the mashed potatoes were cold so she asked for another by the time she got it she was halfway through the pork chop. My other friend had the shrimp cocktail which was excellent and she ordered the Houston’s chicken salad when it came out it had kale in it which would have made her sick abd the menu said mixed greens which is usually spring mix. She wound up eating coleslaw and the cabbage from the pork chop. The manager came and asked if there was another dish or anything she could do to make it right and she declined but she still took some things off the bill without us asking which is excellent customer service in my opinion. I will still go back as I adore the Hawaiian ribeye too much lol! We also had the thai noodle salad which was also excellent.

Today was such a great experience. Our lunch was delicious and Nicole took great care of our family. She was absolutely delightful. I’d recommend getting the crispy chicken sandwich or the ahi tuna burger. The views are breathtaking with boats of all sizes in the intercostal. We love coming here for any special occasions.

Ok, so did the pull-up to Houstons for dinner for the first time. I am vacationing from michigan and had never been to Houstons. I have been told it was really a twin version of JAlexanders. After dining, I can see the comparison except JAlexanders food is a lot better. The atmosphere was great, along with the service. As far as the food. Just ok, not a lot to say. Nothing impressed me that I would wait in line again to come back. For example, when I go to JAlexanders, there is one dish I love and would continue to go back for. That is there appetizer deviled eggs ( absolutely delicous) We had the spinach artichoke dip for appetizer at houstons and that was mud at best.(tasted pre-made or frozen) lastly this Houstons committed a huge sin when it comes to burgers in my opinion. I ordered their cheeseburger (overpriced at $23) and came to my table cut in half (oh nooooo!) Houstons, please! Please stop cutting your burgers in half before serving them. You are letting all the juices run out, which can make the burger dry. So would I probably repeat not if I had other choices like JAlexanders or Capital grill. But Houstons in Pompano did have great atmosphere and service.
