House of Kee, OK, this one has me in the middle. At one time, I’m sure this place had the look, motivation, and food. It looks ok from the outside but a little rundown, but not too bad. The inside is the same. Just hasn’t been kept up for a while. Understandable being post covid. Service was pretty good. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. Did seem a little rushed, I think, because they close kinda early. Food wise, I had the Mongolian Beef, fried rice, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Chicken Chow Main with Pan Fried Noodles, and Hot & Sour Soup. The Mongolian Beef was very salty in most parts but not all the way through. Sweet & Sour Chicken was different, flattened chicken breast battered and fried with red sauce garnished with pineapple, carrots, and bell peppers, different but not to bad. Chicken Chow main and pan-fried noodles. Definitely not enough chicken and a bit bland. Fried Rice just blah under cooked and overly seasoned. For the most part, the Hot & Sour Soup was the best part of the meal. So what I mean by in the middle of this one. Like most places, there is good and bad on this one. I got ok, not so good, and bad. But I think I may have been too close to closing or a bad day, just not sure. Hopefully, with some renovation and a bit more consistency, it will back on the map. 4 people $170 +

I have been going to the House of Kee since 1982…the food has the best flavor of any restaurant on South Hill and I have been to all of them. I went the other day and ordered the King.. You start off with the won ton soup and then this amazing spring roll…sooo tasty..then the pork tenderloin aka barbecue pork with the hot mustard sesame seeds and ketchup

Been going here since I was a kid with my parents. Now I’m the parent and we still go even though we live nearly 2 hours away. Same great food, and friendly service. Our last visit was great except for the loud and racist people that we were seated behind. Not the restaurant fault. It’s too bad that those people were so proud to be racist that they all spoke booming loud so everyone in the room could hear the disgusting rhetoric that spat from their mouths. People like that need to just stay home.

This is a solid Chinese food option. It’s very Americanized and not authentic at all, which was a pretty big letdown for me personally. However, if you want some place the whole family can enjoy that is exactly like any other Chinese food place you’ve been to, then this is a good place for you. The Ma Po Tofu was my favorite of the items I tried off the menu. It’s not the spicy dish you would expect, but it was very flavorful and an enjoyable dish.

My husband and I used to love this restaurant. We went there the other day and the quality of the food has gone way down, the prices have gone way up. I was surprised when my husband said that he would never go there again and it was not good. I feel like they changed the wontons in the wonton soup. They did not taste right. The chicken in the sweet and sour chicken was so tough we could hardly cut it. Every time we came there in the past we told them we did not want the shrimp egg rolls, they asked us if we want vegetable instead and we tell them yes. The vegetable ones were pretty good. This time, they asked us we had chicken so I thought that was our only option, they didn’t ask if we wanted vegetable. So we got the chicken egg rolls and they had no flavor. We don’t like all the items of any of the family dinners so, we always substitute. We were only allowed to substitute two of the three items we didn’t want so we had to get an item that we don’t like which was the rice. I cannot believe how much the prices have gone up, the waitress told us it’s because they raised minimum wage. They’re going to wind up going out of business if they continue to raise their prices that much.

Portion sizes are huge. The bathroom was decently clean. That’s about the only positives I could think of.

Great little Chinese great atmosphere good food I wish this place had better hours. I don’t know why they’re only open three and a half hours a night during the weekday. I’d come here a lot more if I didn’t have to figure out if I was going to make it on time or miss out. They need to redo the bar area with karaoke or something. Most important extend the business hours especially on the weekends. Diamond in the ruff

My family has been coming here since I was an infant. And the food has been delicious my entire lifetime! I removed to AZ a couple years ago and every time I come home to visit this place is first on my menu. There is nothing else like it and I crave it all year. The staff is always amazing as well and recognized me after not seeing them in 2 years! I look forward to my next visit to town! We get the Cantonese and there really is nothing like this in AZ!

Been dining here for 35+ years. I am sorry to hear that it is closing to become a fast food joint. It has been a tradition in my family as well as my wife’s family for many years. The only authentic Chinese place around.
