Ordered three burgers. No pickles, with onions and lettuce bacon and cheese.. Opened up the package and found the burgers weren’t even on the bun, fries where thrown into the box on top of the build-a-burgers we were left with. Lettuce was barely good, zero onions and pickles in every order when asked to please no pickles… Real sad to see. This place used to be the bomb and I always loved coming here over the years! Was such a great joint in little Eagleriver. As a local this is sad to experience, and genuinely disappointing. Hopefully it can turn around and become great again. Until then I will tell everyone this place isn’t worth the money you spend. McDonald’s has you beat on presentation and listening skills

Made a quick stop for lunch. Dogs were good – everyone enjoyed them. We did have one vegetarian in our group (me) who found the selection pretty limited. They do have a black bean burger but I wasn’t in the mood for that. Stuck with fries as everything else had meat. Why no veg dog? Many great inexpensive options for that so a bit surprising that a hot dog place would have a veg burger but not dog… Waited 10-15 minutes for our order. Enjoyed a pale ale we had just bought from the market while we waited (not sure if technically allowed but nobody said anything!). Beautiful summer day to sit outside. Very friendly service.

Over the 4th week, my wife and I were waiting In line outside to place our order. I then had my wife hold our place in line while I went in to take cash out, after I took cash out, an employee asked what I wanted to order and I said, let me grab my wife, I’ll be right back. I grabbed my wife from the line outside to place an order inside.. then a different employee said, “we aren’t doing orders inside right now, THAT’S WHY THERE’S A LINE OUTSIDE”… she was VERY rude. We also lost our original place In line outside, so we just left. The EXACT same thing happened to my brothers just last week when they went there. Literally the same thing… these employees need to be on the same page when it comes to their line system, because one of them still thinks you can place orders inside. and the other employee needs to lighten up. Will not be going back.. make your own dogs at your home or cabin people!!

Food is awesome. We had a Chicago style hot dog with Jalapenos added. Also ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich which had cheese, mushrooms and green peppers all sauteed on a nice soft hoagie bun. I asked for a packet of mayonnaise. Might get banana peppers added next time. The sandwich was huge. The beef was loaded on and was very tender. Order at window and sit outside at tables. Will definitely be trying their other menu items. No malts made here unfortunately.

Best junk food of the Northwoods. Most of the staff are friendly. Some staff members seem overwhelmed and annoyed by customers. They can be sharp tongued @ times. Old fashioned drive up dining. Pet & kid friendly. Need more outdoor seating. Best junk food around. Good sized portions. A must to enjoy. Screw the diet for one meal!!

House of rude, not dog. We were standing in line and when my husband went to get cash inside an employee told him we could order inside. I left the line to go order inside and immediately another staff said “YOU CANT ORDER IN HERE GO OUTSIDE.” She was incredibly rude about it, so we left.

House of Dogs has good authentic Chicago style food. I had a combo beef and sausage sandwich dipped with hot peppers. My sandwich was delicious.

This is a hidden gem and must go-to stop if passing by Eagle River. The service was extremely friendly, the kind of hometown friendly that makes you feel like you’re back home. As for the food, it’s sooooo delicious! We got the chicken bacon ranch, Chicago dog and fries and it was probably best we’ve had. Chicago you got some competition up here 😉 Great spot and dog friendly.
