First and only time it is ok honestly when your hungry you want cooked food and ready to eat. I came here with my coworkers and meeting ran long it cut into food time so by the time I arrived I was ready to order and eat but instead I ordered, cooked, then eat, but beside that it was a pretty clean place. They start you off with drink order, then your option of Hot pot or BBQ, or both. The waitress explains both options and breaks down the menu and restaurant food/season bar. It was definitely an experience we had a party of 11 ppl meat, vegetable, fruit and salad were fresh. You definitely want to get creative when cooking and seasoning your food. This ain’t for everyone I cook a lot at home so it was easy the throw down and cook my food! Overall it was nice and the service was excellent!

My wife took me on a date night to this wonderful place. Korean barbecue. I had the chicken curry and spicy chicken with vegetables cooked on a plate. My wife had spicy beef with noodles and vegetables. Our waitress named Tiffany was very professional and knowledgeable with everything. She made our first time there the best ever. She is the best. If you come to this place ask for Tiffany the waitress.

Very impressed with this restaurant. It was very clean for a Korean BBQ, granted it’s newer because I remember this place when it was Quaker Steak and Lube on Bike nights. Anyway the food was amazing. The hot pot was very tasty and the controls were very simple to use to heat. The grill food was perfectly portioned. For me the best part was the service. They use an iPad to take order, which is common, however it seems their system immediately tells cook/preparer the individual order before having to wait for entire table to finish ordering. Meaning as soon as I ordered a bubble tea it came to the table before the 3rd person in my party started ordering.

ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS!!!! This Hot Pop has been open for a few months and I didn’t even know it. I received a called asking me to visit, and so we did and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very welcoming and once you step into the lobby it’s like you’ve left the outside world behind. At first the idea of cooking my own foods was a little scary. What if I over cook it? Not the case. Our waitress Braya & her trainee Trinity were amazing! Very attentive. The food came out quickly then we’d expected and WOW! Presentation is everything!! Braya is very knowledgeable of the menu and time frame to cook your meal. I recommend placing your next order when your 1/2 way done with the first. This is a light meal. So you don’t feel weighed down. You will still run the risk of having the ides lol. I ate foods I normally wouldn’t try. So glad I broaden my food horizons. There’s even a fresh salsa bar with fresh fruits. This in my opinion is an ideal date spot!!! If this review is helpful give me a . Thanks.

Major warning, you might get addicted to this place. Also, you’ll come home smelling of grilled meat (you may not even be aware), do yourself a favor and air out or immediately wash your clothes. Not kidding. I love love love this location. If you’ve never been there’s kind of a routine to it that you need to be aware of, but they’ll help you.

The food, wait staff, and ambiance were all great. The hot pot was very flavorful and had a lot of choices available, but I think the Korean barbecue had more bang and flavor for the Buck.

FANTASTIC spot and probably the most unique restaurant in Newport News. Come for lunch or dinner, pots are small so a solo meal is absolutely possible.

Our dining experience was amazing. We have eaten at about a dozen Korean BBQ restaurants along the east coast and this was the best overall. The service was courteous and fast. Theresa and her team did an amazing job. We received tips from a couple of regulars that got us familiar with the hot pot and custom sauces. We will visit again before the end of our vacation.

If you’re wanting that Korean BBQ experience, you will get that here. The beef bulgolgi was delicious and the vegetables were fresh. The food comes out quick. Even when you order additional food, the servers have it out within a couple of minutes. My family thoroughly enjoyed this place and the food.

Love the place we were celebrating a friend’s birthday and It was awesome, at the beginning I was so lost of what to do and how the order service worked but the waitress explained everything so clearly that I was so easy to enjoy the experience that the restaurant has to offer. Good tip if you are going for both the pot and the BBQ not order too much food the pot by itself is a really good dish to fill your hunger and the cuts of meat for the BBQ are really good to keep you eating as you were at your backyard cooking. You can always order more food if you want and they bring the order quickly as the waiter asks the next person on the table so you can have enough space in your table to eat and to prepare the food. Vegetarian options are available and they are really good.
