When I first walked and seen the menu I was ready to give the whole menu a try. The sandwiches I had were mild and hot but I didn’t taste any seasoning. The mac n cheese wasn’t a hit for me. The fries were okay. The corn was okay. The customer service was awesome she was surprised I order the whole menu but she had a great attitude. The fried chicken was pieces and too big.

This is legit the best chicken in Chi! And that’s a lot coming from me since I’ve lived on both coasts and have had some of the best fried chicken out there.

Hot mushy mess!! All I taste is garlic. It’s not crispy AT ALL!! Asked for no onion and no tomato it came with tomato. I was willing to forgive that cuz people make mistakes. But then I tasted it and was disappointed to say the least. My daughter didn’t like her wings either. The fries were good though. But not enough for me to go back…

I got their Hot Chicken fries and it was delicious. The spice level was enough to make me sweat but the flavor still shone through. The sauces on top added to it and the fries were done perfectly

Arrived at 10:55am but doors locked, workers inside but waited about 5 minutes until they unlocked the doors which was no biggie. No Apple Pay and card reader not working fortunately I had cash. Did not have a clean fresh feeling in the dining area, floors were sticky garbage can had food stuck to outside and chairs were sticky as well. I bought the tacos which were a nice size however for being the first customer the tortillas were cold and the chicken was room temperature. Great flavor tho. Need some work here.

Stopped in this place today because I wanted to give it a try. I can honestly say that they did a very good job at marketing. They had me fooled, I was under the impression that they were selling chicken breast sandwiches, and after having a couple of bites of my sandwich I noticed a lot of fat, then I noticed that the meat was dark, had I known this I would have just ordered the tenders. Their sauce is decent and the fries were cold, sandwich was Luke warm, pickles and slaw was decent as well. However for $11 for chicken thigh sandwich when Popeyes has white meat chicken breast sandwiches for $5, it’s kind of silly to even name a chicken sandwich “f Popeyes chicken” on your menu. Popeyes is wiping the floor with this place and they don’t even use slaw on their sandwiches. The customer service was nice and friendly but I’ll stick to Popeyes. I spent $27 and feel like an absolute fool. They should really mention that their sandwiches are dark meat and not white meat.

Go here for the best hot chicken sandwiches on the Southside. The food was great. I had the hot honey chicken sandwich was huge and came with fries and was only 11 bucks. You can also choose your level of heat which is perfect for folks who cant do too spicy. I got my sandwich at the hot level and it was the perfect blend of painful yet delicious lol Get the watermelon drink too. It was really refreshing.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Hot Chi located on 87th St. The wait time was beyond frustrating, clocking well over 30min for just two 6pc dinners. The state of the store, both inside and out, was appalling with dirt everywhere. Even after enduring the long wait, my order was messed up, missing items I had ordered.

This spot a hit @ 4 stars but it’s a shame bcuz they’re so close to 5 stars. Chicken sandwich was solid as well as the fries. Mac n Cheese looks bogus but it’s actually pretty decent, it’s more creamy than cheesy but worth getting. The elote was not good tho tbh. Worst part was the experience. You have to ask for utensils/napkins, only 1 ice cream flavor, and they pack your food to go whether you eat in or not. Owners need to tighten up a little here and there and this could easily compete with some Northside spots.
