Best food, atmosphere and service! The menu is HUGE and they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day so there’s always plenty to choose from based on what I’m craving. Some of my favorites are the poor man’s club, pork chops, vegetable plate, waffles, and too many more to name. Their salads are always fresh. The prime rib on Friday nights is top notch. They have all the comfort food you could want, but also do dinner specials each week that are more “fine dining” so you really get a taste of it all here. They have catered for my birthday and family holidays too and it’s always amazing. I think the catering menu is even bigger than the restaurant one.

This place came highly recommended. The food was good. I was very disappointed that for almost $27, my seafood platter was a very sad portion,..four small oysters, four shrimp and a strip of catfish. I could have gone to a nearby seafood restaurant and get done that portion for half the price.Mac and cheese had a good taste, but dry. It was my birthday so kind of a bummer.

This is good. It’s home cooking and has a place if you are looking for a good meal at a fair price. If I missed home cooking and had the budget, I would probably be a regular. The drink was good. It is a throwback. Honestly, I want to try their breakfast, because it is clear they know how to cook.

If I could choose zero stars I would. First off the waitress was upset because we took about 15 minutes to order. I feel like I should be able to carefully scan the menu to see what I WANT. The food came out looking appetizing but was disgusting. The pancakes and French toast was all we ate really. The eggs had no salt and pepper, the hash browns were barely done and still cold, also the biscuit was dry and tasted of it was frozen before. No one came to the table to give us our check. They gave everyone else there’s and had smiling faces. We were the only black lesbian couple there and honestly if I can’t dine at a brunch restaurant comfortably in my own skin, I’ll never be back. Please check these reviews before heading there way!

I’ve eaten a lot of eggs and these are the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had.

I like the vibe of this place and it wasn’t too crowded. I’ll certainly be coming back because it’s got inexpensive prices for a Sunday morning breakfast with the kids. The food quality was a bit lower than expected but for the price it’s great. The odd thing was that we got syrup and ketchup in packets and it just seemed odd to get condiment packets in a sit down Passaic American diner. Why not a bottle of ketchup and a classic syrup container?

Truly excellent home cooked meals! They had some of the best pancakes that I’ve had in YEARS. I ordered a custom omelet that came out perfectly, and my husband had the buttermilk pancakes with eggs and biscuits. Delish! The wait was a bit long, but they were super busy. The entire meal was only $24! That’s crazy cheap with today’s inflation! Overall a great place to go to have a home-cooked meal!

Although I have eaten here many times this week I tried the turkey and dressing for the first time I normally get a vegetable plate because they always have such an amazing variety of sides. This was not my favorite. The dressing felt a little packaged and the turkey was a bit dry. No worries because there’s plenty of other amazing things on their menu to keep me busy.

We come here several times a month for lunch. They have great burgers, sandwiches and salads and offer a choice of 20 or more sides – including grilled corn on the cob! We recently learned that they serve Eggs Benedict on the weekends (they are not listed on the menu) and they are the best we have found in Durham. The diner would also work for a casual dinner and it appears that they have a full bar. The owner is on site and frequently checks to see that everything is running smoothly and your food is up to expectation. It is apparent that both quality and service is of primary importance and the waitstaff is cordial and efficient.
