On Saturday, June 3, we visited Hop Mountain. My wife and I were looking to kill time between a wedding and the ensuing reception so we “hopped” in (pun intended) for a single drink. The place is nice and clean with bar seating, plenty of tables around the establishment, and outdoor seating as well. We went right up and parked at the bar and was served by Kristen. Hop Mountain has an impressive lineup of craft beers but they also offer plenty of domestics for basic people as well. My wife opted for the Lemonberry Scone ($8) and I got a can of Rainer ($4.50). Tab was $12.78. It was a pleasant experience sipping on our beers and we enjoyed ourselves. We would return.

We arrived during a trivia night We were told it would take about 30 minutes before we would get our food. We said no problem. We also ordered an appetizer. We had water. Got the appetizer in about 30 minutes. Water glasses were empty. No refills. Tables around us were getting water. 30 more minutes still no water refills and asked if our food was even started. They checked and were told there were two orders still in front of ours and be another 15. This would have made our time from ordering our food to possibly getting it to an hour and 15 minutes. Still no water refill. We asked to cancel our order and we would pay for our appetizer. Yes it would have been nice if they comped the appetizer as it would have been almost an hour since we received our appetizer and no other food or water. The guy doing the trivia night was awesome. We did not play but he was entertaining. We left hungry and went to McDonald’s across the street.

Tried wasabi wings. They were different and fantastic! And the best fries I’ve had in a long time. My Moscow mule was cheaper than anywhere else in town. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Hop Mountain Taproom is just exactly what it should be–a friendly pub with delicious beers carefully selected by the owner, a pub menu of wings, burgers, salads and flatbreads that satisfy everyone and fun events that bring us back, even if we don’t need a reason. My family and I have enjoyed Hop Mountain since it opened and have since grown to appreciate the hard work of everyone who works there that makes this place nice.
