Best low country boil (/Cajun option available) I have had! I got the garlic butter snow crab, lobster, New Zealand mussels, and black mussels. Extremely flavorful and cooked to perfection!!! My wife got the same but subbed in shrimp–also extremely delicious. Be prepared to get your hands dirty but they do provide bibs, gloves, utensiles, napkins, etc. Staffing & Cooks very knowledgeable.

Usually when we go here the waitress we have is amazing! Unfortunately, this time she wasn’t there. I called 7 hours ahead of time for a group of 10. When we arrived we were seated immediately but then waited 40 minutes before anyone took our drink orders. Once we began ordering and the food came out it was a nightmare! I ordered buffalo wings, instead I received what looks to be fried pigeon ankles with Franks Red-hot hot sauce poured on top. The sides to our meals were coming separate from the entrees, making us wait up to 30 minutes before having a complete dish on the table. For the amount of money we spent, the service we received made the entire experience unpleasant and completely not worth it!

I’m from Maryland and was craving some good seafood. I was delighted to eat at this place. The food was very good and the service was very quick. Charlie was very kind and helpful in explaining the menu to us. If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely come here!

The service was excellent. The server kept checking in on us multiple times making sure our next order was ready to be placed. Atmosphere was a 8 out of 10. Unfortunately the food was not what I was expecting especially the snow crab. It seems the snow crab were boiled in excessive salt before combining into the seafood bag. As for the rest of the all you can eat food options, they taste like frozen food that’s fried or microwave to order.

Our server Charli was very PLEASANT, EASY to talk to very knowledgeable and attentive to our in service requests. We ordered the All-U-can-Eat option and was very impressed with the food options and even more with the Flavors and Food presentation. When visiting Connecticut again, this will be a definite stop, it’s worth it….

I was truly looking forward to dining at Hook & Reel tonight after a couple of days stuck at the hotel preparing for a project.. Thank goodness I was not disappointed.. Despite how busy they were, the service was on point, the food delectable and the atmosphere was vibrant and inviting.. Will definitely go back!!

Recommendation: combo boils, dark color clothes, signature cocktails.

I recently visited hook & reel , and I must say, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. The level of service provided and the repeated mistakes with my order left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.

First time here with my kids it was amazing. Pulled up and before entering I could hear the music and was very happy. Seated immediately, our waitress was great I wished I remembered her name to give her her props. Food was great. The sweat potato fries were the best I’ve ever had. Kept ordering them. Only complaint was the the crab boils were a tad too salty. But overall I will be returning.

Food was good. The crab leg shells were easy to open and muscles weren’t chewy like I’ve had elsewhere. The potatoes we had in our boil were very small and seemed old. The other parts seemed much fresher. Server barely came around. We went on a Saturday. Hopefully the dj thing is just the weekend and not daily. It was way too loud to be able to enjoy fully.
