This is my favorite (and only) Chinese take out place I go to in the greater Durham area. Instead of reviewing dishes, I will just note Compared to many Take out places, the food here is noticeably fresher. Veggies are crisper, and chicken and beef are tender. Their chili oil is extremely hot. Also, Great steamed rice and egg rolls.

This Chinese food was delicious! It tastes better than your average Chinese take out. The stir fry vegetables tasted fresh and full of flavor and it was a good quality selection of quality vegetables- not the cheap blend you get at some Chinese take outs. I got shrimp with mixed vegetables and a spring roll. Good stuff. I recommend. Tip: don’t go during busy times like Friday night. They get really busy and you can wait up to almost an hour for your food. Go on off times or before the rush.

Hong Kong Restaurant has been saved on my list for a while, but it was honestly pretty disappointing. The General Tso’s chicken was so bad we couldn’t finish it (I had to spit out a few pieces that were too tough to chew). The fried pork dumplings were okay, but only average. Glad I finally tried it but won’t be returning.

I ordered veggie lo mein, hot and sour soup, and pork egg roll. You can tell the place is busy by all the finger prints on the door. The place is very old, could use some upgrading. Not very friendly, but the food was good

Better than your typical Chinese take-out places, which is why it’s often quite busy – especially on the weekends. Recommend calling ahead and placing your order 15-20 minutes prior to desired pick-up time.

They must of rigged their own ratings, spring rolls were mushy, egg drop soup tasteless,

Exceeds the expectations of your typical Chinese takeout place. Good food, good price (even does their lunch special on the weekend).

Food is hit or miss! Please check the prices to the menu prices when your order is being rung up. I have been overcharged on more than on occasion.

THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN DURHAM ! I’ve tried so many Chinese food restaurants and nothing compares to Hong Kong restaurant. The food is always so fresh and I’ve tried a few items on their menu. I HIGHLY recommend this place. This is the closest thing to NYC Chinese food which is hard to find in NC. 10000/10

Hands down the best dumplings on earth. THE BEST. My kids beg for them every Friday (and every other day). I have been ordering the same meal at this restaurant since 1998. I’ve watched their kids grow up, they have watched mine. If you have the dumplings here, you are never going to be satisfied with any other dumpling, anywhere else, ever. THANKS HONG KONG!!!
