Place is big and spacious and was a nice rest spot for lunch. The food was all pretty bland though so we had to put in more salt and pepper. Wish the dishes had a little more flavor. The XO cabbage was good though

Salt pepper tenderloin…excellent and super soft as it should be. Honey walnut prawns…more like 16-20 or slightly bigger shrimp…very good and plump shrimp. The beef tendon soup. Very light yet delicious soup. Noodles very soft and delicious. Few gripe I have is…steam rice should come with all entrees, they charge extra if asking for extra cups for 1 pot of tea…noodles soup could use more veggies considering it’s in a nice hotel like Venetian and it’s a higher end category Chinese restaurant.

I have a mixed review. The Chinese broccoli and Shanghai style mini buns were tasty and well prepared. The service was friendly and efficient, and we were welcomed and seated promptly. However, our main dish, the Shanghai style short ribs in vinegar sauce, was terrible–they were deep fried and then coated with a sauce that was so sugary that they stuck together and there was literally a pool of sugar stuck to the bottom of the plate. The ribs themselves had little meat. That was the main dish and I know what Chinese-style cooking should be and this was not it . . . very, very Americanized. We were disappointed overall because that was our main dish. Also, given this is Las Vegas, it would have been nice to get a drink, at least a small selection of cocktails. There were none. If the intent for Hong Kong Cafe is to be a family-friendly restaurant, all the more reason for the dishes to be VERY authentically Chinese.

We had to wait literally over 10 minutes before our drink order was even taken after being sat. The oven roasted duck was cold unfortunately. Probably sat on the window till the rest of our food was made. The rice and wings we got were really good and hot. We really liked coming here but this time I guess it was the cherry on top. What’s going on guys??

It’s a great restaurant if you order the right thing . Otherwise it’s a 3 star experience. Let me explain:

The appliances were not clean especially the spoons, there were big dirty white spots on them and some on the forks. I think that the food is good but the appliances grossed me out. I waited 20-30 minutes to get a table and had to wait for 20 more minutes for my food when my friends were eating.

We are from Texas and we go to Vegas consistently every 3-4 months. This is the FIRST restaurant that I go to all for the chicken wings, it has a crunch fried garlic topping that is FANTASTIC! I love it there.

For Palazzo to be such a high-end hotel, I’m not sure how this restaurant fits in. The food was horrible. The only thing that was ok was the party wings and Thai tea. Go to Chinatown if you want good Chinese food. Don’t waste your money here.
