Absolute hands down best BBQ joint in NY and perhaps best I’ve ever had. All the hype about Hometown is on point. Super casual and super friendly staff. You have the choice of both indoor and outdoor seating. 80’s music blasting was definitely the kicker.

This place makes me wish I had it in my hometown. It is without a doubt the most beautiful Barbecue experience in New York City. You’d think they couldn’t nail everything on their menu but they just do, you can choose anything and you’ll be chuffed! Although there are places with better individual pieces, Hometown is the most complete Barbecue platter you can get. Stand out for me was the honey drizzled corn bread – no where else has come close. The best bread I’ve ever had. The service is quality as well, they know they’re stuff and they’re happy to share it. You tell them what you like and they’ll sort out the platter.

Hometown Bar-B-Que is a small, family-owned restaurant that specializes in authentic, pit-smoked meats. The meats are smoked for hours over oak wood, and the result is some of the most flavorful and tender barbecue I’ve ever had.

We were a fab four, and we went all in for the brisket, pork, ribs, cornbread, Mac and cheese, brisket and cheese, Korean pork ribs, coleslaw, and a bunch of other mouthwatering treats. Everything was amazeballs, but that brisket and cornbread were off the charts One of the top-notch BBQ joints I’ve ever hit up in the city. They’ve got outdoor seating, so grab your grub, a cool sip, and step outside – it’s like a picnic in the midst of the urban jungle. Totally recommended.

This restaurant is a complete waste of money. They overcharging for nothing. My meal had 4 ribs, a small Mac and cheese, and a slice of honey cornbread. I didn’t even get nothing to drink. My meal came up to $80 for nothing. $40 for 4 ribs is ridiculous. I couldn’t even enjoy my food. They also gave themselves a tip even though I got no waiter service. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to friends and family.

First let me say I didn’t know what to expect coming here. I only heard about this place once. Let me tell u the lines were long… However, it is very much worth it for meat lovers. Everything here tasted & was prepared perfectly.

We’ve been here many a time and it’s always a hit. The line can take some time, so show up at or right before 12pm on a weekend or you’ll be waiting for up to 45 min – 1 hour. Go with a group so you can order a bunch of things.

Omg best barbecue food I had in a very long time! We had the Pulled Pork Sandwich (so good!), Brisket it was so soft it melted in your mouth, Oaxacan Chicken was definitely our favorite so much flavor it was delicious & Jalapeño-Cheddar Sausage (this is not on the main menu). The sauces are also delicious! We also had an Amber beer from Cooperstown (super refreshing for a very hot summer day). The staff is super friendly and gave us really good recommendations, definitely I’m coming back to try other things from the menu. Found a new favorite place!

Hometown BBQ was our first stop on our vacation to NYC. I discovered the restaurant on the Food Network, Man vs. Food and couldn’t wait to try those Korean Ribs! My oh my were they Damn good! We also ordered just about everything else on the menu and was not disappointed. The servings are plentiful and enough to share if you like. I came in ready for the K-ribs but fell in love with the Beef rib. A masterpiece!!
