What a gem. Loved the outdoor area, the set up has a great feel. Was too hot of day to sit outside, inside was awesome. Friendly host sat us down at a table. Very nice atmosphere and decor. Food and liquid offerings were great! Really enjoyed the food. Will be back when next time in the area. Thanks

Where do I start? We are first time visitors to the Charleston area and stayed in Mt. Pleasant. We had taken a plantation tour in Mt. Pleasant and decided to have dinner there too. Home Team was one of the too BBQ choices based on some research and word of mouth so we drive over around 6:30 and we’re met with a very full parking lot. However the outdoor space and vibe here were wonderful! We got drinks and waited outside and chatted with others ajd watched children drawing on the giant chalkboard hung on the fence and a basketball game in one of the three huge screens centered around dozens of picnic tables and seating. It was a very pleasant party atmosphere. Perfect for groups of families! Indoor/outdoor dining. I had brisket and fried macaroni and cheese and my husband had the smoked chicken with white sauce (you have to ask for the white sauce). It was so much fun and the staff was great! Including g the GM who took a lot of time answering my husband’s questions. We would definitely go back! Waited about an hour and 20 minutes but ended up enjoying it.

I could eat their baked queso every single day… the Mac n cheese bites and pimento cheese – the brisket UMM we haven’t had anything yet we didn’t love! & the atmosphere is very nice indoor and outdoor seating with TVS all around as well!

The former Rusty Rudder is a Home Team BBQ now. It was very busy which is always a good sign. We had brisket sandwiches and they were delicious. The brisket was juicy and flavorful but not too salty. Our 3 year old loved the brisket quesadilla. What I also liked is that they offer non-alcoholic beer options (Athletic Brewing). Service was great too

We’ll be back. Service and food was good – some of the best smoked chicken and pulled pork I’ve had. Brisket was also very good. Not a fan of the sausage. Mac and cheese was also yummy. Inside was *extremely* noisy, though it was a college game day and just a couple weeks since opening.

The fried ribs never disappoint and we hope to order more before we leave. The BBQ is good, recommend the brisket. The review would Ave been 5 stars but for the temp in the restaurant. It was freezing and the fans were on high, making a breeze on the table. Everyone was in coats and when I mentioned it to the waiter, he said that’s just how it is. The fans and already cool night made our meat cold within minutes of being delivered, so that was the only critique. Otherwise, Home Team delivers.

Consistently, the best wings I’ve ever had. I was coming to Mount Pleasant for work and didn’t arrive till 9:30. It was a slow night and I sat at the bar to eat. I received excellent service from Burt and great conversations with him. Very cool to be able to have such a great experience like that nowadays.

I ordered minimal food and was told there was going to be an 80 min wait when ordering online. I arrived at the restaurant early prepared to wait at the bar. There was literally no one there. I understand it was fourth of July but the restaurant was empty. Someone came in after me, ordered to go at the bar and got their order before me when I ordered well over an hour before them. The hostess said she would ask them to start my order early which clearly didn’t happen!
